# Developer DAO elections - Call for Candidates

We can´t believe that time is passing so fast, we are kicking off new elections for the Developer DAO.

# Mandates: Builders first

- **Support** : resolve daily issues on forums & channels, drive weekly meeting agenda
- **Bounties** : prioritize bugs & features w/ task management & contributor retention
- **Advocacy** : hold workshops & events, content marketing with talks & blogs

# Timeline

### Elections announced

- **December 9, 2021** : The election date is announced.
- Candidates will have 2 weeks to introduce themselves and present their qualifications on [Forum \> Governance \> Developer DAO](https://talk.harmony.one/c/governance/developer-dao/51). Creating a new post : Running for Developer DAO Governor: “name”
- Ideal candidates must demonstrate:
  - Their experience as web3 developers (LinkedIn, Github).
  - Their familiarity with Harmony and its development ecosystem.
  - Links to their open-source contributions on Github.
  - Description of decentralized applications they have worked on (links, demos, videos).
  - Track record of assisting other developers and community members.

- Must have:  
Weekly availability for governor meetings (Tuesday and Thursday)
- Nice to have:
  - Experience writing technical documentation.
  - Leading and managing engineering teams.
  - Experience running developer talks and events.

- The community will have a chance to review and ask questions on hour weekly developer DAO (Thursdays). **Dec 9, 2021, 9 am PT** & **Dec 15, 2021, 9 am PT** & **Dec 22, 2021, 9 am PT** : AMA for all candidates on the weekly Developer call.

### Voting begins

- **Dec 24, 2021, 9 am PT** : [Snapshot](https://gov.harmony.one/) is created and announced across all channels.
- Elections will be held for a period of 1 week. (Dec 24 to Dec 31)
- Candidates are encouraged to promote themselves and share their Forum post across different channels.

### new council DAO commencement:

- **Jan 1, 2022, 9 am PT** : 9 governors will be elected for a 3-month term.
- Multisig wallet governors will be updated (will be required a meeting with old/new governors)

- The developer DAO will accept candidacies ONLY until 12:00 CET - December 24th 2021  
After that new entries will not take into consideration.
