3 Years of Negligence: We Reject the “Crumbs”. We Demand Real 1:1 Recovery.
To the Harmony Community and Leadership Team:
It has been over 3 years since the Horizon Bridge hack (June 2022). Three years of empty promises, failed recovery plans, and endless waiting for the victims who trusted the security of this network.
Today, we are faced with proposals that attempt to close this chapter by offering pennies on the dollar. It is time to speak clearly: The community will NOT accept anything less than a 1:1 recovery (Full Repeg/Restitution).
The Negligence is Yours; the Losses Should Not Be Ours.
The hack was not user error; it was a critical failure in your infrastructure security (multisig key management). You are responsible for that gross negligence, and therefore, you are responsible for the full restitution of assets.
Total Rejection of the Current Liquidation Proposal
We are presented with “recovery” tables that are, frankly, insulting to those of us who have held devalued, locked assets for years. Look at what is being offered under the guise of “recovery”:
| Tier | Max Recovery (USD) | Refund Rate Offered | Is this Fair? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $1.5M Cap | 20% | NO |
| 2 | $9M Cap | 20% | NO |
| 3 | $1.5M Cap | 8.65% | NO |
| 4 | $4M Cap | 8.65% | NO |
| 5 | $12M Cap | 5.5% | NO |
Are you seriously asking us to accept a loss of 80% to 94.5% of our money after making us wait for years?
Our Stance is Firm:
-
Full Accountability: We do not accept narratives that minimize Harmony’s responsibility. The lack of bridge security was a corporate and technical failure of the team.
-
Rejection of “Haircuts”: Any proposal that does not aim for 100% (1:1) legitimizes the theft and mismanagement. A 20% payout is not “recovery”—it is a tip to make us go away.
-
Real Solutions: If there are funds for new initiatives, grants, or marketing, there must be funds for the technical and moral debt owed to your users.
We will not validate any plan that cements our losses. We want our full assets back.
1:1 or Nothing.
What did you expect? It was always a plan. In fact, it is always a plan in crypto after exploit or loss.
You create some form of very long plan based on the promises and hope and the longer it goes more people move on, they are not able to create any meaningful influence on the perpetrators because everything gets blurry and idle.
I have everything frozen in Aave and I believe that Harmony should shut down within the few weeks, liquidate everything, compensate users and dissolve. Founders can start new careers in some other industries like robotics, ai or maybe tacos restaurants.
