Collaborative community of Latin American journalists for the onboarding and inclusion in Web3.
Who we are
Introducing the Blockchain Press Club, an organization dedicated to connect, nurture and educate Latin American journalists. Today, Latin American journalism suffers from an extremely isolated professional environment, affecting heavily the publishing of latino-based content and its public. Only 8% of the content on the internet is in Spanish and 3.7% in Portuguese, compared to the outstanding amount of 26% of English material. Added to this, the Web3 niche is even more exclusive, with the majority of the content directed only to technical English speakers. Blockchain Press Club provides a space for connection and sources of mentorship, education and career formation in content creation, journalism and Web3 for our peers, benefiting the Latin American public directly.
Our Mandates
- Connect: Reunite a strong collaborative community of journalists across Latin America to share knowledge, experiences and contacts.
- Educate: Provide actualized educational resources to teach journalists and new professionals in communications about content creation and Web3.
- Earn: Provide our members with opportunities of building portfolios within Web3 through paid collaborations with partner organizations.
Our goals
For our first 3 months:
- Set a multisig wallet with three governors.
- Build our digital network (website, Instagram, Twitter, Telegram etc.)
- Launch our social token
- Make our first event for latin american journalists
For our first year:
- Create an educational platform for journalists and content creators.
- Produce 15 online courses for diverse areas of content creation and journalism in Spanish and Portuguese.
- Build the administrative structure of the project (governance, accountability, legal, etc).
- Build a database of students (public looking for educational content), teachers (experts from different creative areas giving recorded courses) and professionals (members of the community contributing in diverse areas).
- Connect and build with other projects and institutions to increase content creation and reduce production costs.
- Partner with other projects and organizations with paid content collaborations.
- Reach and connect journalists from all 17 countries of the Latin American region as members of our community.
$BPC
$BPC is a social token built on the Harmony Ecosystem (HRC-20). BPC is the DAO’s native token and we will distribute it by rewarding our members for their contribution to our platform and for their content creation work with our partners. Partner organizations will exchange content services for $BPC.
Blockchain Press Club leverages its members with fair payment for their services and connects them with web3 while participating and contributing to the DAO’s mission.
The overarching goal of $BPC is to enable a payment system for our members and contributors and coordination of DAO membership. Token holders will unlock a variety of perks that include but are not limited to:
- Subscription to paid content platforms
- Access to exclusive content
- Access to special events
- Chat rooms and activity groups

- 1 full operational website
- 1 educational platform
- 300 active members on our Telegram
- 5000 followers on our social media channels
- 15 courses
- 10 project partnerships within Web3
- 5 events for journalists in Latam
Educational Alliance
Educational initiatives in Blockchain and Web3 may not be abundant compared to those outside these contexts, however, it is still possible to lose count of how many there are.
However, abundance does not mean diversity or comprehensiveness, so the challenge of providing education on blockchain and web3 remains.
With this in mind, Blockchain Press Club will provide education for Latin American journalists about blockchain technology and the web3 industry.
The initiative has two cores, the teaching core and the core of the production of didactic content for this professional niche.
The latter, which will be built in partnership with Blockchain na Escola, and organized as follows:
- Content Creation Team
1 Coordinator (term of three months + one week after the first application)
1 Content Creator (three month contract + one week after first application)
1 Editor (Contract for 4 + one week after first application)
1 Communicator (1 month contract + one week after first application)
This unit will develop on-demand content following guidelines set by the Blockchain Press Club.
The content will be produced aiming at the characteristics of the audience, such as, for example, the cultural, political and economic references of the public to be served.

Content construction workflow

Pre-production: Period for collecting narratives, content from local culture and references, setting deadlines and tasks for production.

Production: Operational period where the coordinator, creators and niche consultant will fulfill their tasks following deadlines and applying resources.

Post-production: coordinator, editor and communicator will meet to assess:
* JEDI, textual correction and communication aspects.
* Assessment: In the first week after the end of the training, the team will meet with student representatives to produce an assessment report that should serve as a basis for correction.
