Chainwhiz: Open-source Bounty Marketplace

Name of Project

Chainwhiz

Proposal overview

Chainwhiz is an open-source bounty marketplace live on Polygon Mainnet connecting Web3 protocols and DAOs with builders, contributors, and communities. Using our platform, DAOs/Protocols can outsource tasks of all categories(design, development, writing, etc.) as bounties and find contributors to solve the bounties in exchange for crypto payments.

Chainwhiz also opens up the stage for everyone to contribute to the validation process. With our solution voting mechanism, all community members can stake and vote on the best solutions submitted to the bounties. This helps projects, especially the ones with limited time and resources discover the best solutions to their bounties much faster using the voting scores (calculated after the solution voting) as a reference.

Go-to-market Strategy

  • Collaborative approach to tap into powerful communities of protocols through partnerships.
  • Bringing our own bounties on Chainwhiz and enable more reward/revenue streams for contributors(NFTs/POAPs/etc.)
  • Sponsoring Hackathons, and offering help to participant Sponsors/Teams to open bounties on Chainwhiz
  • Teaming up with web3 ed-tech startups to onboard high quality talents on Chianwhiz.
  • Organising Chainwhiz hackathon with $5000+ in prizes in coordination with different protocols.
  • Focusing on emerging projects in the Harmony ecosystem

Very much needed platform that opens the stage for many participants, and allow teams to validate their solution during the building process.
Teaming up with web3 ed-tech startups is a mart move with awesome impact for students.

An overall well designed and well thought solution!

Much needed platform to accelerate web3 adoption among developers, designers. Incentivizing contribution and partnering up with web3 edtech companies help the community members gain exposure to real world problems of real protocols.

@Ashish_Pradhan welcome to Harmony!

  • Can you describe to the community on how different is this with Immunefi?
  • Which Ed-tech startup would you be partnering up with to onboard high quality talents?
  • Which emerging project would you be focusing on at Harmony?
  • Will the bounties be for Harmony or for builders on Harmony?

Hey @Jacksteroo
Thanks for your questions. Let me take them one at a time.

  • Can you describe to the community on how different is this with Immunefi?
  1. To begin with, Immunefi is a bug bounty platform targeted strictly toward cybersecurity and network vulnerabilities. It is geared towards hackers discovering bugs and securing Web3 as a whole. Chainwhiz, on the other hand, is a more generalized bounty marketplace capable of hosting all sorts of bounties - design, development, marketing, writing, etc. While it is not to say, that bug bounties cannot be posted on Chainwhiz as well, the categories or the kinds of bounties a Web3 Protocol can post on Chainwhiz have no limitations. Our aim is to build the future of work in Web3 where contributors from various fields connect with the best Protocols and DAOs and kickstart their Web3 journey.

  2. Chainwhiz is hugely community-centric as well. With our voting mechanisms integrated into the solution curation process for a bounty, Chainwhiz has opened up the space for every player to participate in the solution creation and validation process. This allows the community to have an influential role in the bounty cycle making the process super transparent and open.

  3. Chainwhiz also brings to the table the power of hosting bounties in native tokens. This means two things going forward -

  • The Protocol doesn’t have to bridge any tokens from one chain to the other in order to post bounties. Since the vision of Chainwhiz is multi-chain, Protocols from a variety of chains can utilize their native tokens to post bounties and payout rewards to contributors. Example- A dapp on Harmony need not use MATIC to host a bounty on Chainwhiz. They can use ONE token or their native token for the bounty rewards.

  • The contributors participating in the bounties feel a sense of ownership over the DAO/Protocol once they receive the rewards in the form of the native tokens. This makes them more motivated towards helping build the Protocol.

  • Which Ed-tech startup would you be partnering up with to onboard high-quality talents?
We have already partnered with emerging Ed-tech startups, namely Lumos Labs, Web3Bridge, and PhoenixDao.

We are looking to grow actively in this space and are aiming to partner with LearnWeb3Dao, Cadena, BuildSpace, DeveloperDao, EncodeClub, and many more.

  • Which emerging project would you be focusing on at Harmony?
In order to help scale the Harmony Dapp ecosystem, we will be targeting projects from these categories-

    • Defi - Artemis Protocol, Venom Dao, Templar Dao, Mochiswap, OpenSwap
    • Gamefi - Crypto royale one, Tranquility city, Harmony play

Defi and Gamefi are the top two emerging categories in the Harmony Chain and helping projects in these categories build faster with the help of bounties would in turn benefit the overall ecosystem.

  • Will the bounties be for Harmony or for builders on Harmony?
Chainwhiz is a chain agnostic platform allowing any project or an individual to post or contribute to bounties. This means bounties from the Harmony project itself as well as bounties from the emerging projects building on Harmony can be posted on Chainwhiz.

Being an open-source project the barrier to entry is as low as possible. Be it builders from the Harmony ecosystem or members from a completely different one, anyone can contribute to the listed bounties.

Hey @Jacksteroo
Hope you are doing well. Bumping it up!

We’ve decided to refocus on using Gitcoin as our bug bounty program management. Thanks again for choosing to submit a proposal to Harmony
