thank you for tagging me in this. we will be reviewing it
Good afternoon, @harmony_dev_dao governors.
At least, it’s afternoon where I am.
Thank you for submitting this additional funding request. And thank you for the work you have all done so far. @Sam has recently published our DAO Funding Guidelines. Please take a look at them if you haven’t already.
For any additional funding to bootstrap Harmony DAO’s there will need to be a reporting and accounting document created in addition to the funding request proposal on talk. The document should be a PDF that can be linked on the proposal.
Report & Accounting : Prior to ANY additional funding. The DAO must produce a report for the prior funding period. The report will be in .pdf form and be available to download. In the report, they will list the following items:
- DAO Mandate
- Initial Formation Proposal
- Deliverables and Metrics from the initial funding request
- Report on the status of the deliverables and the metrics associated.
- New deliverables for the next three months, plus proposed metrics.
- Accounting of the DAO treasury which must include:
- Payments including links to the community vote and how the payment is tied to the DAOs mandate
- Current assets on hand (including social channels such as Twitter, Discord, Telegram, etc. If the DAO has created content, list and link to that content)
- Current community statistics. Social channels with followers and engagement. Number of Governance Loops completed.
- Lessons learned during the prior term. Both positive and negative.
If any bounties have been enacted by the DevDAO, I would recommend including those details in the report as well.
Just a thought, I think it would be beneficial to the community if the DevDAO also prepared a document (talk, twitter, reddit, TG, Discord, etc) going into detail what DevDAO Bounties may entail. To drum up anticipation and participation. If that is/has been ongoing, then please forgive my ignorance.
We’ve been compiling all the details and aim to have something posted before Thursday morning.
Thanks for the update, Edd.

Just as feedback: It was quite the effort to put everything together and we are having a lot of this tracked in out gitbook: Harmony Developer DAO Mandates - Harmony Developer DAO
This is all new and in the making, but in the future, it would be good to have a clear template to plug-and-play the required informations or if we could even share our existing tools to minimize the bureaucratic workload for all participants.
The Developer Dao
if we do not receive funding for our DAO treasury by the end of this month, we will not be able to pay our governors for the month of February and beyond; and we will likely see less involvement from governors moving forward until we can receive funding.
This would be unideal for many reasons, as it will slow the progress we’ve been making in the ecosystem but especially because next month we’re currently planning to begin a pilot program which will be onboarding developers from the Developer DAO (on Ethereum, via https://twitter.com/developer_dao ) to put some of their existing pool of developers (1200+ individuals) to work on harmony ecosystem projects which have been requesting developers from within our ecosystem (via @CryptoOneBabe + @StrongMindsHold + @ValidatorONE + @clayford and others ).
This pilot program would be one of the first direct opportunities for the Harmony Developer DAO to become a self funded operation in the near future.
If there is anything we could do to move the discussion forward around continuing to fund our DAO, that would greatly be appreciated.
Well said, man! I hope you guys get what you need.
Thank you for the update!
Will get back to the @harmony_dev_dao
Thanks for writing this up Edd. Well said.
The bulk of initiatives we are working on in the Dev DAO are ways to become self sufficient. It would be a shame to be thwarted by running out of runway before we can finish putting them into place.
Can the DAO help to speed up the process?
Thank you for your patience as the team has been working in Denver. As you know, funding decisions are not unilateral. The DAO Ops team was able to meet today and we are happy to conditionally approve this funding request! The condition is simply scheduling the second election. I know the previous one was around the beginning of January, but having a concrete date for the next term is always crucial. Please add that to the post.
Also, thank you for a detailed funding report!
We have updated the Funding Report to include upcoming Governor elections.
6. Upcoming Governor Elections
6.1. March 24 - March 31 (3 Month Term)
6.2. June 23 - June 30 (3 Month Term)
Current Governors are reviewing a few amendments for the upcoming election and then we’ll be making an official announcement for the upcoming SnapShot.org election.
Here is a preview:
Here is the official posts for our next election:
If there is anything we can do to secure funding for our DAO, please let us know. Our treasury is currently nearly empty now (<2k USD), & our governors have not been able to be paid for the month of February. There is a lot of valuable work we are planning for the month of March++. Please fund our treasury as soon as possible. Thank you
Approved for funding. @lij
You mentioned creating 10 new bounties. can this support existing projects?
I need help!
If it helps you as well to meet your targets can one of those 10 be mine Harmony Pay - Stage 2 Integrations & growth - #22 by drspinosa - Funding Proposals - Harmony Community Forum
Will you be able to match my $10k available for development with possibly some funds and/or in kind to run a hackathon manage it (the hackathon bit i will still work with the devs ) and have 1-2 devs deliver the initial part of the project as described above.
Good work so far and thanks for your support to the Harmony community
We’re definitely excited about any possible Hackathon, would just need to create a proposal for if the DEV DAO should allocate funds for something like that; but personally, finding a theme and collaborating on that would be great! If you want to take the lead on that front, and make some kind of post about it, we can take it to a DEV DAO Snapshot vote about allocate funding for it.
HOWEVER, Our bounty program is focused on bugs, core functionality, examples and enhancements to the essential software stack used to keep Harmony fully operational:
We also define bounties, governors are not tasked with completing them; although it does happen, it’s as they can find time to do so.
Personally, I don’t think it would be within our mandates if we were to be helping define bounties for your project but I assume you were thinking we could complete them for you
There is currently a pilot program we’re running to try to place #EVM #Web3 devs into projects like yours and if you’re interested in joining that, as we continue to move it forward, please reach out on our Harmony DEV DAO Discord!
Hope that clears things up?
