In Q3 our teams will work on high level solutions including tracks for DEFI, & ZK PROOF

This is a great article that explains our trajectory in DAO formation.

We have been in the pre-DAO product discovery stage, identifying viable projects and business models. It’s only after these sustainable activities have been formed that we concentrate on building out the structure.

We are getting to the point where we are ready to launch the decentralised DAO.

We now have an onboarding process for new members whose membership are signified by a POAP/NFT.

We will soon be voting on a roadmap of events & the decentralisation timetable.

Basic structures including governance, the decision making process and treasury management will be co-created with onboarded members.

The benefits of gender diversity

People often misunderstand the argument for diversity - framing it in terms of ‘charity work’ or ‘political correctness’.

These views are not only misguided but detrimental to the progress of the web3 ecosystem as a whole.

Our approach here at H.E.R. DAO is evidence based.

We have put together some resources so people can better understand the perspectives and extensive research in the area of gender diversity and the economic and organisational benefits.

The takeaways are:

The inclusion of women results in higher profits, better decision making and a more competitive edge.

• Companies that score high in gender diversity on executive teams were 25% more likely to have above-average profitability (Dixon-Fyle, Dolan, Hunt, & Prince, 2020).

• Companies with more than 30% women executives were more likely to outperform companies that only have between 10% and 30% (Dixon-Fyle, Dolan, Hunt, & Prince, 2020).

• When it comes to work performance, companies with high gender diversity outperform those with low diversity by as much as 48% (Dixon-Fyle, Dolan, Hunt, & Prince, 2020).

• Teams that are gender-diverse are better at making business decisions 73% of the time (Hak, 2019).

• Unfortunately, only a small fraction of leaders in companies are women. In fact, out of all the Fortune 500 companies in 2020, only 37 women are CEOs (Hinchliffe, 2020)

I actually happen to know a bit about this. This is the infamous McKinsey report which they publish regularly every few years. Unfortunately, for anyone who actually studies or digs into it, it becomes clear that this report is unreliable:

  1. This is the most important criticism: it’s not peer reviewed
  2. It tries to delve into relationship between women-led companies and performance of said companies but not the cause-effect

It has actually been disproven by academic research and meta analysis shows little to no correlation:

Among people who are interested in this subject and engage in unbiased discussion, it has been hypothesised that McKinsey’s report shows that companies that already do well, employ social policies that tend to promote gender diversity and inclusion. Hence, more women in high positions.

Research from the European Union shows that the economic benefits of gender diversity are:

  • Boost in competitiveness
  • Higher employment and more jobs
  • Increased GDP
  • Member States that increase gender equality will reap bigger benefits

HER DAO - I am on the Harmony DAO Ops team and need some info from your DAO as well as get you in the 1DAO Alliance Discord. All funded DAOs are required to be part of the Alliance and participate in weekly meetings. The link to the Discord is 1DAO Alliance. Please have all signatory governors join the Discord and I can assign you a role and add you to your DAO subchannel. This Discord will be where all DAO communications are conducted.
