Ah! I remember those days with the unverified Harmony explorer! Those were some nerve wracking times for us all until we figured out how to get the contracts verified! We are proud to be a community resource in this ever growing space and will continue to push for higher standards in DeFi development!

I do have a question, Does the Rug Doc charge a developer to audit or KYC, or is this a free service to the developers?

Our product offerings are constantly evolving with the space, which is why we started an extensive KYC program. With a success rate of over 99% in our KYC program, our KYC program has become a coveted symbol of community trust, prominently put on display alongside our “RugDoc Reviewed” badges. While our contract reviews are and will always remain free for the community to request and access, KYC Costs depend on the project’s development team, the configuration of access to the deployer, and other pertinent security details due to the extra time and cost it takes our team to thoroughly interview individuals we KYC, validate identity documents, securely store the data to remain compliant, review their contracts more thoroughly, and do background research into their DeFi histories.
Deliverable 3, focused on Developer Security, indicates how our proposal would make a KYC services more attractive for Harmony blockchain developers by providing discounted and expedited services to them.

I apologize for my stupid questions.
When a project on Harmony blockchain engages RugDoc for its services, the team has to pay. So, I am confused as to why there is a need for a partnership grant totaling $3M for RugDoc to perform its already-regularly-offered services? Any projects on Harmony blockchain can request such services directly to RugDoc and paid for it (if the project is willing to spend the money), correct?
Or, without this partnership grant, RugDoc will not offer its services for any project on Harmony blockchain? Won’t it be natural to grow RugDoc’s business (such as revenues, etc.) by expanding to other blockchains even without a grant? Thank you.

Hi Peach and thanks for the question. Our user end services are always free, but they only encompass basic, user requested reviews. This grant is far more comprehensive than our basic services. It provides expedited and more thorough reviews and audits for the Harmony team, more aggressive community monitoring, education, real life events onboarding users and developers to Harmony, create a large Harmony focused vaults which would integrate with our website, hackathons, expedited listings for Harmony, emergency services to patch projects before they are exploited on Harmony, discounted security suite services to Harmony developers and partners, and a whole lot more. Our advertising revenue has been what has funded our team in our basic endeavors so far, but we want to be able to expand our capabilities to truly service and cultivate a safe chain. Our ad revenue has been able to support our team so far, which you can see the monthly overheads for in the proposal, but to accomplish the goals we outlined here, we need to be able to move away from focusing on marketing services and grow our team. We have also outlined an income model for our BlockPowered events which would be self sufficient. We wanted to create a multi tiered proposal that goes above and beyond our standard services and utilizes our team to aggressively launch development and volume on a network, and the 6 programs we proposed is what our team can do to accomplish those goals.

My team encompasses over 30 individuals and I am not going to make anyone on my team doxx themselves, unless they want to. I am internally already doxxed to Harmony leadership and part of this proposal involves live events which I and some of the team will certainly be doxxed for- sort of difficult to host a live event as an anon : )
