Edubuk is an creating a Full-Stack Customized & Decentralized Skilling Ecosystem which is Globally Scalable using AI & Blockchain. The Full Stack skilling ecosystem has 5 steps: 1.) Passion Discovery & Career Mapping using AI driven assessments; 2.) Customized Learning Plans (as per chosen career goals); 3.) Online Skilling Courses (in Extra-curriculars and Emerging Technologies Skilling); 4.) Student’s & Learner’s Blockchain profile (Digital & Verifiable Skill-Profile including hard and soft skills records on the blockchain); 5.) AI driven Job assistance as per Blockchain based profile of the learner.

Edubuk’s ecosystem is globally award winning by MIT University, Harvard University, IIT, IIM, NASSCOM, TiE Delhi, TiE Mumbai and other reputed organizations. Founders are Gold Medalists, Toppers with rich experience in Education field and are passionate about building decentralized Edtech which is globally scalable.

The plan is to award certificates to the students on the public blockchain network so that it is verifiable. We have completed the MVP by issuing MIIT Screening Certificates to students on the Blockchain.

Also, we have got the final confirmation from ZEE Group of schools in India for conducting MIIT Screening for all their 25,000 students over next 1.5 years in 120+ schools (other deals are in the pipeline too in the Delhi-NCR and MENA region).

My sense here is that this is an on-chain certification system.

  • Curious to know why can’t this be solved by a Web2 system. Curious to know what the value of it is to be on-chain. Maybe I’m missing the point on MIIT or ZEE Group (not familiar with either) and its importance.
  • Why would Harmony make sense? Are there any Harmony education platforms that would be looking for this on-chain certification system?

Hey @Jacksteroo : Thanks for replying. Given below are the answers to your queries:

1.) In Web2 system: people can fake certificates, can fake their LinkedIn profiles, can fake their resumes but in Web 3 system which we at Edubuk are trying to build we will have everything (all the certificates of the person) on the chain, verified and approved by the issuing authority (using their web3 address) so once the transaction is approved it is there forever and 100% verified and tamper proof (as the issuer of the certificate has approved it digitally and the record is present as a transaction on the chain). Hence to build a completely verifiable, tamper-proof, trustworthy: Resume, Professional Profile and a parallel to LinkedIn verified system, web3 is required. Please check this website here: as an MVP: Edubuk Here: there are 3 pairs of 2 members each:

1.) Employee and Employer (Employee puts their skills and work experience on the chain and Employer verifies it)

2.) Students and Institutes (Students will put their grades, marksheets, certificates on the chain and Institutes verifies it)

3.) Lifelong Learner and Experts (Learners put their e-certificates that they get via their online learning through various edtech platforms and the experts like Udemy or its Instructors approves it online that it is legit).

2.) MIIT Screening (stands for Multiple Intelligence and Interest test): a test that Edubuk conducts which gives the answer of Top 3 Multiple Intelligence Type, Top 3 Interest type and map it with relevant career paths for youth of India and UAE. The results of MIIT Screening conducted by Edubuk for each student is added to the 360 degree Resume, Profile, of the student on the chain (his Edubuk profile 100% verified on the chain). ZEE Group is one of the biggest education schools chain in India with 25,000+ students across 120 schools, they have agreed to test our solution, after they have done their Due diligence with us and also similarly DeMontfort University, Dubai campus have agreed to do for their 200 students (have their digital profiles verified on the chain via Edubuk’s Blockchain based profile for each student).

  1. We are a multi-chain system and will be able to add 25,000 + student profiles (their digital CVS on the chain) on the Harmony Blockchain and since we are teaching these students about emerging technologies (including blockchain right from the school level: class 6th and above: we can potentially train them on using and building web3 projects on Harmony). Regarding other Harmony education platforms, you please refer them to me and I will be more than happy to collaborate with them and have their students certificate and digital profiles recorded on the chain too…(using Harmony mainnet).

Great points.

Re: on-chain certificates – it is true that the power of blockchain is transparency and immutability. The problem is with what happens off-chain. There could be fake institutions pretending to have a legitimate education business and still gives out fake certificates, but signed on the blockchain. This is a classical provenance issue with supply chain systems today (using locked RFIDs, on-chain scanners, etc.) but if there’s a crossover between the analog and digital world, that’s when it opens up to attack vectors, where blockchain isn’t there to protect.

The timing may be the issue and the composable blockchain ecosystem still lacks a Decentralized Identification (DID) system (who’s authorized as who, and are they KYC/KYB’ed?), a reputation system (is this really an instructor who approve?), a grading system (is it really Udemy?), etc.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes @Jacksteroo, your points are absolutely valid. How we are solving for eliminating the issue of fake off-chain certificates being transacted and approved on-the-chain is this:

1.) Each Institute/employer/online learning platform: partnering with Edubuk to issue their certificates on the chain will have only 1 unique public web3 address (the Dean’s office web3 address/the HRs web3 address/the online learning platforms’ web3 address) approved for approving the certificates. These unique public web3 addresses, 1 for each institute/employer/online learning platform, we will publicly share in a document (“a directory”) so that anyone can verify if the certificate/skills/work-experience approvers’ web3 address is the same as is listed in this document. This will make the background verification a one step procedure.

“Directory” will have 2 things only: first: (a public web3 address of the institute or employer or online-learning platform) and second: name of the institute/employer/online learning platform (for example as shown below):

a.) 0xhjhjghghjuuhj2342hjhjg78 Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay)
b.) 0xhjghjtybb6656hjhkklkh69 Microsoft Corporation
c.) 0xjklkjhkynljk7876ghjhjgf84 Udemy

2.) Same will be done for each employer who will tie up with us (1 unique web3 public address will be used by them to approve the skills of the employees and their work experience on the chain and this web3 address will be listed in the document (the directory where you can match the public web3 address of the approver with its official name).

3.) On each certificate: their will be a mention of its approver’s web3 address, its contract address, its certificate verification URL (the on-chain transaction approval url) where you can check if the student id/ the employee id mentioned in the certificate is actually matching as per the name of the student /employee and its certificate credentials mentioned on the chain are matching as per the actual certificate being looked at.

So, it will be this way, we are planning to get the profile 100% verified and build trust in our system and once it is done, more and more institutes, more and more employers will join hands with us to have their students/employees certificates/skills on the chain and get access to already approved certificates and credentials of other students so as to verify them (the ones not a part of their system): to hire them as employees or give them the seat in the institute (say for ex: to get an admission into the masters course, your bachelor’s course certificate should be approved on the chain by the issuing authority).

Hope this makes it clear how we are thinking of making it trust-worthy and decentralized and public in the “real sense”.

@apoorvaedubuk we have a renewed interest in running an education program. We have yet to decide which vendor to go with. @Mattyontap and @essalacher is running point on Developer Growth at Harmony. We’ll consider Edubuk as one of the potential partners.

We shall reach out if we decide to proceed, and with a lot more detailed asks than the proposal here. For the time being, we won’t proceed with this proposal but may circle back in the near future.
