I really hope the Harmony team will re-evaluate their decision. Not only will this be a good community builder but once up and running will provide investment capital to up and coming projects. Very disappointed to see this denied.
This is a serious project with honesty and transparency shown throughout. I fully support this project and hope that Harmony will reconsider and approve this project.
I hope you will reconsider, as I believe that this project has a lot to offer to the community and Harmony ecosystem.
For one, it is not a player guild as such, but a community-driven “index fund” for all the projects. People investing time and money into Cerebral Gaming DAO will positively influence the success of every project out there by researching, buying and playing the games.
Also @clayford has a clear vision, will and resources to execute on the plan. We’re entering governance voting process. There’s already marketing presence due to his social media exposure. That’s already more than many projects here.
I am not really into DAOs. But seeing Clay’s passion for CGD made me join his. Really sad about Harmony refecting the grant
While I don’t speak for the Harmony team, I’d like to offer my thoughts on this:
First, the grants are an additional incentive to build - not getting one does not stop you from building on Harmony. It also doesn’t preclude you from applying again in the future, when you are bigger/have proven the model.
Second, you mentioned seeing grants approved for projects that have amounted to nothing or were left behind – to me, that is an argument in favor of more strict review and acceptance criteria of future grant proposals, not a reason to remain with the previous level of review. As such, that would also necessarily mean their review of your proposal should be tougher.
Third, DAO funding proposals are fundamentally different from other project proposals. Many funded ones are regional DAOs or Taking a look at one of the other community projects that submitted a DAO proposal which was approved, TokenJenny (ref: TokenJenny DAO - Creating DAOs for EveryONE - #15 by lij), you can see that they had already launched their project, gotten some traction, and started to decentralize it. Many projects (particularly ones with their own tokens) do not need to start off as a DAO and in fact, practically speaking, do not operate as a DAO. Decentralizing the governance to the community requires, in my opinion, that there BE an active community established. Transitioning to a DAO structure can be a gradual/progressive process.
Good luck with Cerebral Gaming though!
Way ahead of you, man. I’m funding the project startup costs myself and our community is already exponentially growing. I’ve already hired devs for the front and backend work on our website. Also, I might add that our project will be decentralized from the start. Anyone that owns tokens in our protocol will be able to write and vote on proposals. I’m already drafting a proposal for our first week of operation. Thanks for checking out our DAO!
Hey @clayford after re-evaluating your proposal, we’re happy to approve this as a launch grant. Be sure to connect with @giv @Jacksteroo for next steps. To be clear, launch grant is $50,000. I believe there’s a duplicate proposal of Cerebral with a different amount requested. In any event, lfg!
Thank you so much for this opportunity! We’re very much looking forward to building out our ecosystem on the Harmony Protocol. We will do our best to always represent Harmony well, by selecting good projects with solid foundations. @papi you’ve made my day, man!
Being approved for funding and actually receiving funding for meeting the requisite benchmarks are different, right?
I’m not sure there’s much benefit in being overly restrictive with approving funding when projects still must achieve the specified milestones before each corresponding tranche is paid out
So the purpose of the “guild” aspect is that the members of the DAO play the games, are in a guild together, and the DAO properties within the games are owned by the DAO/guild and used by the DAO/guild to further each member/player’s personal earnings as well as the DAO’s ROI?
I initially thought this DAO was just about investing early in games (NFTs, in-game currency/governance tokens, etc), and that was cool enough for me. But the guild part adds another layer of potential revenue that I hadn’t even considered before. I’m assuming this is not a novel concept, but it is to me haha. And I like it
Who is Mr. M?

Exactly!
“Who is Mr. M?”
Mr. M is one of the founders of the new DEX OneFi.
This proposal fits best to the Launch grant based on the guidelines at Apply for Grants or DAO
Applications of each launch must have prototyped a feature-full product. Harmony helps incubate these founding teams with product development, fundraising, and talent recruit.
We recommend a $50K equity-free contribution each:$10K after launching a feature-complete product on our testnet,
$10K after forming a DAO with 5-out-of-9 multisig with our DAOs,
$10K after launching on our mainnet with audit,
$10K after 1K daily active users (with launch video, full PR promotion),
$10K after 10k daily active users (with a detailed roadmap, governance process). Moreover, we recommend a 5-out-9 multisig account on Gnosis Safe with 3 governors from the project team, 3 governors from the project community, and 3 governors from Harmony DAOs – namely, ONEcommunityDAO, ONEdeveloperDAO, ONEincubatorDAO.
In all cases, we ask for 3-month exclusive campaigns with Harmony before more porting with other chains. We also offer follow-on investments – see 50 Investments ($20M) above; but, at the moment, you must have an outside, lead investor for us to match the funding terms. All codes, development materials and production assets must be fully open, preferrably with MIT or BSD licences; weekly updates must on sent on forum; and, all server deploys or mobile apps must be easily clonable.
Can we agree to the above terms?
@giv , We made a launch proposal after this one was declined at first. That can be found here: Launches: Cerebral Gaming DAO - #6 by clayford
Our metrics for success are:
Launch of token on mainnet - $10,000 (Our distribution is going to be unique, the first of its kind on Harmony) More info here: Cerebral Gaming Partners With Kuro Shiba! | by Cerebral Gaming | Feb, 2022 | Medium
Form a DAO with 5 out of 9 multisig wallet - $10,000
Release of roadmap and first DAO proposal with at least 100 token holders - $10,000
Full PR and marketing campaign (including micro-influencers, social media, and traditional media marketing) - $10,000
Reaching 5 votes on DAO proposals/investment avenues and 1000 token holders - $10,000
Please let me know if these metrics meet the Harmony teams criteria
Here’s another one of our updates! After speaking with you today in the twitter space it made me realize I needed to think about our mandates. Here’s a post with some more info! Doxxing, Mandates, Multi-Sig, and Governance Galore! | by Cerebral Gaming | Feb, 2022 | Medium

Our NFT launch has been a great success so far. It’s a 6 month funding campaign and we’ve already sold 11.5% of our total 150k NFT’s. We first tested our minting contract and staking contract on the testnet with the KuroShiba team. We also successfully launched our governance token.

Our DAO consists of 10 governors. We set up our multisig two weeks ago with a 6 out of 10 ratio.

Love to see the project moving forward!! Keep working clay & CGD team!!!
Sorry it’s taken a long time to respond, but we don’t agree with most of your metrics of success.
Launch a token - yes
Multisig - yes
Roadmap - no
Full pr - depends
DAO proposal - depends
The purpose of cerebral is to be of service to games building on Harmony. These games are in various stages from land sales to raise money to actually building the game using unreal engine.
We need the last 3 goals to be tied to why Cerebral exist in the first place - to be of service to games on Harmony.
$10K after launching tipping/rewards system on mainnet w/audit
$10K after onboarding 500 web2 gamers through our web3 rewards system
$10K after 10k active daily users with full marketing campaign (cointelegraph, youtubers, tiktokers, promoted tweets, facebook gaming) and roadmap
Are these more acceptable terms for the latter three?
Tipping system
yes
onboard web2
How do you define and measure web2 gamer? And even after you onboard them, what are they going to play? We have many games under development but none are actually live.
10k daily active users
How are you measuring that? 10k dau over how many days straight? What is active? You need to define your terms and be more specific
Onboard Web2: Once we onboard them, we want them to be using the financial aspects of crypto. We will introduce them to GameFi but that’s not our focus for traditional gamers. They most likely won’t appreciate crypto games in their current form unless it benefits them financially. We want them interacting with the HRC-20 tokens on Harmony. Our tipping system will allow them to tip any HRC-20, take their rewards, and either hold or trade for profit. This also gives us the opportunity to introduce them to DeFi. Once these users realize they can make 10-200% APR on their rewards, it will create a grass roots movement. Friends will tell other gamer friends.
10k daily active users: we will be able to monitor traffic to our services on the backend and we can share that data with the Harmony team. Active meaning, using our tipping/viewing reward services within a 24hr period. 10k daily active users over a period of 30 days straight.
