Community DAO Council Q2 2022 Candidate: Bricktop_ONE

@Bricktop_One Has my support with this. These are frustrations that are being felt by everyone but I know that the current core DAO governors currently have it the worst. Bricktop has my vote because he has the passion required to keep this train moving down the tracks.

@Bricktop_One very well said.

Your words are both inspiring and motivating, it has also been a pleasure to meet and work with you in the Creative DAO. Looks like you have a clear vision that will be beneficial to everyone, the skills to support that vision, and the dedication to see it through.

Support!

I wish I could like this post many times. You are a good writer, but more, you are a good leader. You have summarized even with humor the current issues within the harmony ecosystem and proffered productive ways to mitigate against it. I hope they listen.

You have my support as always man!!

You have my Full Support for helping run and oversee the Harmony Community DAO.

Either as a Core Team supported DAO or founding/funding a new DAO, owing in some part it’s foundation to its founders…

The vision of creating/spinning up community held DAOs for Harmony, funded by Harmony, is ideal for the long term vision of the blockchain.

However the reality is that this vision needs time and support to have a chance to succeed, especially from the Harmony Core Team…
Currently the Mantra that “a DAO is just a community with a multisig” seems to me an overestimation of what it takes to build, lead and succeed with a DAO which aims to be owned by its community and none else.

Especially one that aims to solve a serious problem that is: if Harmony doesn’t fund the creation of DAOs which are vital to the long term success of the blockchain then it’s would-be-founders, and the ways they find to be financially viable, will end up impacting what these vital DAOs can do; which is problematic long term for decentralization and overall growth of our great ecosystem.

We’re seeing it with some Ethereum DAOs, where their DAO founders are too personally tied up with the overall value of $ETH , because they have had to build up financial backing for their DAOs, resulting in bias, risk taking and often poor leadership…

A community DAO founded purely by investments and individual work, seems far less ideal for the community, as it will require determining a funding model before launch, which will change what can ultimately be done by the DAO short vs long term for the community.
These are the problems which plague DAOs which have to sell themselves before they can afford to provide value, but this may just be a reality of the DAO space, either beholden to foundations which do not ask a lot (but don’t have time to discuss a lot either) or financial imperatives which lead to less at first and ultimately leads to those whom build the DAO holding power which eventually becomes problematic …

Thank you @Bricktop_One for being willing to say the difficult things!

Your input is extremely important to us so please try your best to attend everyone.

I’m honestly blown away with all the support everyone.

Just wow. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Thank you.

Another vote from myself, having been in the space, and also managing a project myself that’s soon to launch on Harmony, and having delegated to both @Harmonious_Dude as well, you’ve been a tremendous help for people starting off.

I cannot thank you enough for the support in giving me your vote, however, there are many deserving candidates so please consider voting for others and don’t waste the power of your right to vote.

If I get the chance, we’re going to absolutely smash this term, I’m sure the team will do well with or without me. Hopefully, we will see 10 x more community involvement and bounties going out left right and center.

Extremely bullish for the DAOs this next term guys.

Progress everyone. Some really good signs coming from Harmony with recent discussions. Sam and the rest of the team have been doing a lot of listening with the community. We can’t do anything but respect this. <3
