Name of Project
HollywoodDAO
Bootstrapping DAO Grant Proposal
MANDATES:
-
ACCESS: Expanding the inclusion of Hollywood in a way that any great film or TV creator can seek resources from Hollywood DAO, regardless of background or access via traditional Hollywood grounds.
-
INNOVATION: Increasing innovation in TV, Film, and Games by allowing creators to have autonomous access and creative control over their own intellectual property. Web3 is going to allow creators to be curators offering certain rights to their IP to new creators to build on for collective benefit: a curated complex adaptive system, like a series of legos, where creators can let others expand on their IP.
-
SUSTAINABLE ECOSYSTEM: Increasing overall revenue in the blockchain ecosystem by backing film, TV, and game projects that increase value and fun in the world, and in doing so return a greater reward to the DAO as well. These will be financed by the community treasury and will be decided upon with a Snapshot vote ensuring fair governance. As the community and the value of the IP increase, it creates a sustainable DAO ecosystem.
DELIVERABLES:
Over the next three months, we will have a highly-engaged discord, telegram, and Twitter community comprised of those interested in crypto x film. By then, we will host 1-3 events to bring our community together in real life. Finally, NFT sales, governance initiatives, and community-led decision-making will create a DAO experience that will make sure people want to contribute for the long term.
METRICS:
-
Build up a community of 2k+ combined on Twitter and Discord. We will aim to onboard more than 100 filmmakers, actors, and producers alongside our open community.
-
Make a roadmap to ultimately buy the IP to 1-3 films or TV series using the community treasury and a governance vote.
-
Host a series of events in Hollywood, Lisbon, Miami, or Dubai. A total of 3 events would be hosted in 2022 and 2023 focused on the intersection of crypto and Hollywood, blockchain and storytelling, and onboarding the first 1b users on Harmony.
