Mantles - an NFT social media network and content sharing platform
Proposal overview
NFTs lack one critical aspect - interactivity. Currently, the end user can merely view and trade their NFTs, but nothing beyond that.
We’re looking to solve the lack of interactivity in the NFT space. We’ve already partially accomplished this by creating an iOS app that allows users to import their NFTs and create videos powered by augmented-reality. You can check out videos made with the app here: https://mantle.art.
We want to take what we have and expand it into a fully-fledged social network living on the Harmony chain, with the augmented-reality video-making aspect serving as the main attraction for onboarding new users. The social network would exist both as a stand-alone website and in-app with what we already have. The social network itself should be relatively straightforward - the user signs in with Metamask (possibly claiming a username), with the ability to like/comment on videos made with the app. There would
The video-making aspect also serves another purpose aside from attracting users; it gives NFT projects a reason to choose Harmony over other chains. This is because creating videos with your NFTs is mutually beneficial for both the artist and the collector; the artist gets a free promotional tool, and the collector’s NFTs increase in value as a result of the promotion.
The novelty of the augmented-reality film-making tool we’ve built also enables new forms of social media interactions. For instance, artists could “tag” physical locations in the real world with their NFTs, and collectors could visit those locations in real life to actually “claim”/mint the NFT. Companies could advertise at these spots and give a cut to artists/collectors to further incentivize them to visit such locations.

Metrics for success
Our first two technical milestones will be to integrate the app with Harmony, and to build the social media infrastructure. Our first business goal would be to get 10k active users signed on. The majority of the budget would be spent on building the social network and on advertising/marketing to obtain users.
