Proposal overview
We are a new media foundation and have over a decade of experience working across technology, new media, interactive art and video mapping. We have worked with clients such as Google, Stockholm Environment Institute, Royal Airforce, UK and collaborated with prolific research institutions such as NASA. We have showcased our works at festivals and galleries in Europe, Japan, Russia, New Zealand and the USA. Our works blur the boundaries between art, science and education.
For Harmony One we propose creation of decentralised modular sculpture govern as a DAO. The sculpture is experienced by users and its holders as an animated structure in the metaverses. Holders and users can walk, jump and fly with their avatars on the artwork itself.
Metaverse Harmony Sculpture DAO is an audio-visual interactive work. There is a specific audio-visual element created for each part of the sculpture forming a piece of art out of itself. Both audio and visual assets are custom made and created for each part of the artwork and while connected forming a one harmonic decentralised entity. Each part of the sculpture is stored on Harmony One blockchain as a NFT. Sculpture can be experienced online as a temporary piece of metaverse DAO art and offline on desktop clients without the metaverse experience (via Unreal Engine app). Work would be exhibited and presented in existing metaverses such as Decentraland and Sandbox and in other metaverses that will be made in the future. The sculpture is designed to have a small digital land footprint taking the users high in the sky for a better view of the art event or festival grounds that is exhibited at. Adjustments of the sculpture to meet the requirements of each metaverse engine will be made when required. This would allow scalability, raising awareness and adoption.
Collectors by purchasing the founders’ NFTs purchase the elements of the artwork itself and become members of the DAO. The NFT holders receive the rights to the part of the artwork they hold and a percentage of the value of the entire work as well. They also receive a percentage of royalties for exhibiting the artwork in metaverse galleries or events. NFTs are 3D models containing generative audio pieces, forming the sculpture as a whole. You can think of them as a cross between a digital land, part of audio-visual sculpture, a 3D model and a digital environment watchtower. They match and form a One Harmonic entity the Modular Archi Sculpture.
Each founder’s asset will have its own collection of 200 clones made especially for users of different metaverses (total community of maximum 10k users). Holders of the clones will be incentivised to use Harmony One chain and will receive airdrops of artworks related to the sculpture and its ecosystem. Clones collection would also give access to secret locations and audio-visual experiences in the metaverses where Decentralised Modular Sculpture is exhibited in. Royalties from all asset sales would add funds for DAO, allow onboarding new artists, creation of new collections and would be subject to vote by the founding asset holders.

DAO status gives the community of holders tools such as power of voting and decision making, for example collectors decide where the artwork is exhibited. DAO holds the treasury and holders receive a percentage of the secondary sales as well as royalties from exhibiting the artwork itself. DAOs mission is focused on scaling up, curation and onboarding of new artists, promoting NFTs and promotion of the sculpture and ecosystem it forms. As a result, it raises awareness of the Harmony One ecosystem on each event it will be exhibited.
We think creation of such a work would bring cutting edge and truly decentralised artwork and an exciting experience for the community as well as Harmony One ecosystem. It would allow forming partnerships across chains with other projects and metaverses through art. It would bring artistic value, new artists, curators, users as well as a utility to the platform.
Proposal ask
We work in a team of two. We will utilise 3D modeling software and Unreal Engine 4 to create audio-visual assets for this project. We are planning to create 50x 3D models each with generative audio components that could be recreated in other environments ( Low-poly / Voxal / High-poly with animated textures etc. ). We will use high quality hardware equipment in order to record and generate sound material. Additionally we will create models of the clones of each founder’s asset. These will be different and contain deliberate glitches and errors making them imperfect unlike the founder’s NFTs.
Hardware equipment to be used in the project providing the highest quality and customisation of the sound:
- Buchla 200e modular synthesizer system
- Serge Modular synthesizer system
- Eurorack modular synthesizer
- Waldorf Iridium
- Studio outboard gear
Sound will be captured using RME UCX then re-synthesised, sampled and processed in Unreal Engine. We will also explore Unreal Engine 5 and its Metasound sound engine to have a future proof approach.
Visuals for each model will be generated using custom made software including GLSL shaders, Max/MSP patches, generative textures will be made in VVVV and 3D models in Blender.
We ask 140k USD for this project. That includes creation of the artwork assets, software and 50 founder NFTs/models created in Blender, Unreal Engine and generative audio patches as well as creation of a collection of clones of each asset. Work will include marketing campaigns and developer support for linking the sculpture elements with Decentraland and Sandbox to start with and with Harmony One blockchain. It will include writing smart contracts for founders’ NFTs and for the DAO.
- Artist / developer fees: 70k (covers creation of both audio and visual assets and software for making those)
- Marketing budget: 10k (to raise awareness about the project)
- Committee /consultancy fees for work with metaverses and relevant dev work: 10k
- Harmony One developer support: 20k (developer budget to help us interpret the templates and mentor in modification of DAO contracts, NFT contracts and experiment with interaction between Unreal Engine and Harmony One blockchain.)
- Community management: 10k
- Initial DAO treasury: 20k
NFT and elements of the sculpture will be sold on the marketplace as 50x 1 of 1 pieces. Clones will be sold as collection of 50x 1of 200. Royalties and sales from NFTs will contribute to the treasury of the DAO.
We would aim at delivering the work within 6 months.
Metrics for success
- Creation of the founder NFTs as audio-visual assets: 50x generative audio works(patches) and 50x visual environments/models.
- Adaptation of these assets to existing metaverses following required spec.
- Onboarding users and early adopters to discord and Twitter.
- Marketing campaign boosting awareness about the platform and onboarding users. We aim at at least 3k users of 10050 NFTs. We will aim at onboarding future creators of the platform that will expand it and grow along with the content.
- Successful sales of the founder NFTs and deployment of DAO.
- Exhibition of the works on major festivals, NFT conferences and galleries.
- Onboarding artists and future creators on the platform.
Fund release:
- 10% Sculpture design 2D sketches and 3D prototype creation in Unreal Engine, testing the concept offline alongside marketing video content for social media as well as creation of first 5x founder NFTs ready for testnet.
- 10% Creation of 20x audio-visual founders NFTs and Unreal Engine desktop experience.
- 10% Testnet launch of the NFTs. Marketing boosts engaging NFT communities on social media.
- 10% Creation of remaining 25 funders NFTs and adding them to testnet, work on DAO contracts.
- 10% After 500 followers acquisition, the fund will be used for marketing and further boosting community engagement.
- 10% After forming partnerships with other metaverses and communities, prep of materials for these metaverses. For example submission to DCL marketplace for review.
- 10% After completing smart contracts, founder NFT sales and creation of DAO mainnet launch.
- 10% After creation of clones collection and deployment on NFT marketplaces.
- 10% After DAO’s curation and onboarding of new artists, presentations on at least one festival and a conference.
- 10% After mainnet release of clones collection, fund used as subsidy for marketing campaign. All NFTs on mainet, functioning DAO, plan for another 6 months with deliverables. Airdrops for NFT holders are designed and ready for deployment.
