Panther.money is the first decentralized, non-custodial no-loss lottery and prediction market protocol on the harmony chain. We aim to bring the same vision on Harmony. Our goal is to create the most accessible and most secure decentralized no-loss lottery and prediction market platform.

Overview

Panther.money is the first decentralized, non-custodial no-loss lottery and prediction market protocol on the harmony chain.

  • No-loss lottery protocol let’s a user win prizes without ever losing the initial investment. Prizes are distributed weekly. Our platform also supports no-loss lottery for LP tokens, which is first of it’s kind.
  • Prediction market protocol let’s a user predict the price of ONE token and win prizes. Prizes are distributed every specific interval of time.

No-loss lottery

No-loss lottery protocol let’s a user win prizes without ever losing the initial investment. User deposits their token to a pool which generates yield from a yield source. This yield is then distributed to a lucky winner each week. Once deposited, user does not need to move it again for next week’s prize, user automatically becomes eligible for future prize draws. User can take out their money anytime.

Prediction Market

Prediction market protocol let’s a user predict the price of ONE token and win prizes.

Predict if the price of ONE will go up or down in the next 5 mins and win prizes if correct. If you enter “UP”, and the ONE “Closed Price” is higher than the “Locked Price” at the end of the 5 minute phase, you WIN! And if it’s lower, you lose.

If you enter “DOWN”, and the ONE “Closed Price” is higher than the “Locked Price” at the end of the 5 minute phase, you LOSE! If it’s lower, you win

Is it live on Harmony and/or another chain?

Panther money is live on harmony. After initial response & feedback from the community, we aim to launch on mainnet in 2-3 weeks.

How many active users do you currently have, or aim to acquire?

We are live on TestNet, however with the mainnet launch we aim to aquire 2k+ users.

Our team is composed of 5 members. We’re open to KYC.

Justification

With the launch fund, we aim to accomplish:

  1. Development

  2. Security Audits

  3. Launch on Mainnet

  4. Marketing

  5. Operation cost for prediction market

Metrics for success

Our milestones are:

  1. Weeks 1-2: Give beta access to Harmony community to test and give feedback
  2. Weeks 2-4: Launch no-loss lottery on mainnet
  3. Weeks: 4-6: Add more pools on mainnet
  4. Second month after launch: DAO (transition administrative functions to a governance)
  5. We expect more than 2000 users on no loss lottery pools within 1 month of launch on mainnet.

@coco-sha This looks promising. Few questions and comments

  1. I was unable to launch the app, was looking forward to the TestNet tryout.
  2. Can you point out the smart contract that was deployed on TestNet? (and the code repo)
  3. I’m curious to know where is this forked from?
  4. We ask for 3-month exclusive campaigns with Harmony before more porting with other chains after Mainnet launch. BSC Launch in Jan 2022 may be too close to this requirement.

  1. You will have to switch to harmony testnet on metamask to load pools. (chainId: 1666700000: shard0). sorry for the inconvenience. we are adding a automatic network switch and relevant messages.

@coco-sha the PoC isn’t quite there yet. Would love to see more in action. I understand it’s at a very early stage, but here are some observations

  • If users don’t have VIPER, how do they start? I don’t see a swap functionality as yet.
  • What are users predicting? I don’t see anything at this time
  • How are you keeping track of time, is it burned in as a param in the smart contract? if so who/what’s the oracle for “time”?
  • Is there a minimum number of participants per prediction?

If you have some screenshots of what you’d be designing please let us know what it looks like

Thanks for the questions

Panther Money has two different products:

  1. No loss lotteries: For each pool we accumulate interest using underlying token and use that interest as a prize
  • In testnet case, user can deposit VIPER token (which they will get from viperswap) and interest generated will be used as a prize. On how user will get VIPER token, we will add a link to viperswap token pool so that it is easy for users.
  • There is only one pool on testnet because this is the only yield source available but in case of mainnet we have multiple sources such as viper, hMochi, sushi pools. we will use these pools on mainnet.
  • Similarly as ecosystem grows we will add more pools for example ONE pool.

Our plan is to launch no loss lotteries first with 4 pools on mainnet and then move prediction market to testnet, one of the reason being we need funds for executing rounds and for systems for cronjobs. We are thinking to keep time interval for each round to be 15 minutes so every 15 minutes we need to call the contract to resolve previous round and move to next round.
we may move prediction platform to testnet first if you want.
There are some integration left in prediction part.

This way we can attract more users to our platform If you want to take less risk but want to make more you can use no loss lotteries
and if you want to take more risks prediction market is for you.

Great, you’ve answered the questions. IMHO you should find a way to have a trustless way of keeping track of time and executing the smart contracts in a timely, reliable and predictable fashion.

“Testnet Launch” means launching a feature-complete product on Harmony Testnet. We define feature complete to include a user interface, connection to a wallet (Metamask, Harmony ONE Chrome Extension, etc.) on Testnet, and can be tested end-to-end by at least 100 users.

We have completed the first milestone.

Regarding keeping track of time in smart-contracts,

  • In smart contracts the time is tracked and for testnet we have set 20 minutes for each round
  • There is also a buffer time in which rounds can be resolved, if a round cannot be resolved within buffer time it will be considered invalid and all users will get refund for that round(this is done to keep the system fair, also sometimes oracle price is not updated on-contract therefore this is beneficial here)

We have partnered with chainlink and signed a contract for the price feeds on mainnet.
we can launch market on mainnet as soon as chainlink deploys price feeds.

The No-loss lottery portion is really slick, UI is basic but its interactiveness helps achieve the goal. Since you’ve done more to move onto Mainnet while the Prediction portion is still in development, the assessment is fair on achieving the first milestone.

Hi @Jacksteroo,

We have completed the second milestone.

We have increased the round time for prediction to 30 min from 20 min, because chainlink feeds are not updated fequently and round will be cancelled if the latest round is not greater than last round.

Now we are focusing on marketing and adding more features to the no-loss pools such as drip rate and other ui enhancement.

We got feedback from the community and we have fixed the issues.
