R-Rated Sci-Fi TV Series in Development via NFTs

Holy crap this show seems super awesome! The actors, writers, and producers who are heading this project really seem to know what they are doing! As an actor myself I find this project to be extremely inspirational. Furthermore, I think it’s creative as well as super cutting edge by using the booming NFT market place to launch their film! Bravo!

Interesting proposal. Can you explain exactly what the ZykoVerse is? When you talk about discovering Easter eggs in the ZykoVerse do you mean the show itself or some other environment?

Next, I assume the actors you mention have not been confirmed, it’s who you are aiming for. Considering they are fairly know names, and considering that producing a Sci-fi live action requires very high budget (you did compare this show to some pretty high budget ones in your pitch deck), how are you exactly planning to finance all that? Is the 100k estimate NFT revenue figure going to be used for this or will there be a further request of funds from Harmony?

I might have missed it, but where do you plan on licensing and releasing the show?

Edit- @essalacher @jbeltran practically every comment here is from a new account that immediately posts to praise this project. I’d be pretty wary of this

Thanks for pointing this out! This is just an example of the incredible audience and support that I myself have behind me as an artist and can bring with me to Harmony. After sharing the proposal with friends and family and on my Instagram (@watchjoey 100k+ following) we’ve had a flood of encouragement from the amazing friends, family as well as new fans and supporters I’ve connected with over my 7 years of acting/writing/producing film and they’ve hopped on here to create accounts and get behind the concept. So grateful!!!

Got it. Thanks for replying. Could you address the other points regarding the project? Would definitely help with clarity and community support here on Harmony.

okay at first i thought “this dope a** tasteful artwork tells me everything I need to know about how much these guys know what they’re doing” but then I read the breakdown a couple of times and yeah…. this looks like a project pulled straight out of the creators’ vortexes with zero force. a project that’s meant to be made!

looking forward to see this come to life, and all the fan fiction that will be all over the internet after everybody develops a crush on the main character in the middle (i mean…)

good luck guys :raised_hands:t3:

Yes absolutely! Let me breakdown what the ZykoVerse is. A story universe is a collection of art (video games, movies, NFTs, comic books, novels, action figures etc) tied together by common themes, places and characters which often have overlapping narratives and intersecting story points that feed into each other. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the most popular example. A general example of how they use easter eggs; when watching a Marvel film, one character may mention another character’s name whom we haven’t met yet, or there may be an item in the background of a scene that you would only notice if you were looking, or are just a superfan and read about it online! This is an example of an ‘easter egg’, a way to interact with the audience on a whole other level. The character mentioned or the item in the background will come up again in another Marvel movie and create an incredibly immersive and personal experience for the audience members that are aware of the connection. This is what it feels like to interact with the Marvel Universe. The ZykoVerse is an expansive story universe waiting to come to life first on Harmony through NFTs, then to a major TV series and BEYOND. And so we will release information to NFT holders and on the NFTs themselves that will come up later when the TV series is produced.

Here’s a specific scenario in which you would discover an easter egg in the ZykoVerse. NFT Collection 1 drops; you purchase an NFT that looks like a simple piece of jewelry you wear between the eyes on the bridge if your nose. It’s a delicate yet powerful accessory that is mysterious to you at the time of purchase but you have a feeling it could end up being something big in the show. When the TV series streams and we meet the characters, we learn that this piece of jewelry is actually a sign of royalty and is only worn by the King and his children, it’s one of the most valuable accessories in the ZykoVerse. And so what I mean by discovering easter eggs in the ZykoVerse is getting immersed in the story by collecting the NFTs, interacting with the community on Discord and other social platforms, and eventually collecting ZykoVerse Tokens that will include an expansive list of perks and incentives as listed in the main summary. We have an EXPANSIVE vision for this world and what it could become, and it all starts right here with NFTs to create value for everyone involved from the jump!

Other popular examples of story universes. The Potterverse (Harry Potter). The Alien vs. Predator Universe. The Unbreakable Film Series (M. Night Shyamalan) And my favourite example of all… The Vega Brothers exist in both Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. Ours will be referred to as the ZykoVerse!

I’m here and would love to discuss more on this topic and hear anyones thoughts or ideas on how it could be improved. Thanks for reading!

This looks like an amazing project! Everything Joey touches turns to gold! This will be no different! Your hustle is unmatched brotha!

Interesting. Have some more questions.

If I understood the NFT-easter egg system correctly, I can buy an NFT (which will be released before the show comes out) and as the show goes on I would discover the true meaning behind it- thus giving it more value.

If the above is correct then I see some issues with this. Consider this- 2 people buy an NFT expecting it to be something cool in the show but 1 of the NFTs turns out to be a dud and the 2nd turns out to be something amazing. The 1st person here is gonna feel cheated/disappointed of course. I don’t think people are gonna love this idea of mostly luck-based value for the NFT. But I can see some people being fascinated by it.

Also, just noticed- the milestones don’t mention the actual launch of the show (the launch in point 4 of proposal refers to NFT Collection I think?). I’m assuming you might be in the very early stages here so you might not be able to answer questions on series funding/launch details. But I feel a commitment on launch should be a part of this proposal as without it the NFT collection likely won’t mean much

I get what you mean and I see what you are suggesting; let me offer you a new perspective on getting involved. In short, the value of the NFT is not dependent entirely on that item being something popular in the show, the value of the NFT is dependant on the show as a whole being successful. The show acts as the rising tide that will lift all boats (aka all NFTs).
What’s exciting about purchasing an NFT that will evolve into a person, place or thing in a coming TV series is that there is no such thing as a ‘dud’ if the show gets produced and people watch it. What’s so exciting about the NFT space is that you can get involved and support projects before they are even made and grow with them as they develop. If you believe in this concept, the team behind it, see the potential and truly think that this show is going to be a thrilling sci-fi adventure, and it turns out that way, then purchasing any NFT from collection 1 will be a major exponential value gain, it doesn’t matter which specific NFT it is. Now there will certainly be factors involved in the value of each NFT as time goes on including: item/character notoriety, number of pieces in circulation, public image of actor attached to a character, fan favorites etc etc but if the show is successful this means every NFT holder will be successful. All will go up in value, just some more than others.
Here’s an example: Imagine the hit show ‘Stranger Things’ offered NFTs before we meet Eleven and the gang (this show was made before NFTs were popular) and you bought yourself a collection 1 piece the day they were minted. It doesn’t matter which NFT you invested in, maybe it was one of the ‘main characters’ faces or maybe it was a ‘random hat’ that a guest star wore in one episode and we never saw again. Both of these NFTs are going to be worth DRASTICALLY more when season 2 rolls around and so on and so on. As the shows popularity increases so does everything that represents it.
If you take a look at any successful artistic endeavour that includes NFTs in their plan of attack, the successful projects will always mean the value of those NFTs go up, and in dramatic fashion. So at the end of the day it comes back to you as a potential holder believing in the project and the people behind it. The power is in the hands of the creators and the fans! What a time to be alive!

Love this question because it means we get to share THE GAME PLAN to get this series in your living room. We plan to use the projected $100k in NFT profits to build the package that will allow us to get the funding for the show, this money will not be the funding used for the actual production of the show. It will bring us through phase 1 and open up the door to phase 2. To build the package we will need to properly secure and attach a name Showrunner aka Head Writer and Executive Producer. This means a Showrunner with a track record that can come in and lead a writing team with their personal expertise and style in designing the scripts around the story lines we’ve created for the series. With $100k we can confidently go after your favourite writers from your favourite shows who happen to be looking for their next gig. Without proof of funds such as this you’re just another person in the sea of the film industry with another story. The money is what makes top talent take a pitch seriously. The money is what attaches top tier talent. Top tier talent is what then allows us to bring in the full series funding from the streaming services. NFTs have created an avenue for artists like us to build a base of funds with the fans that believe in what this show could be and provide us access to meetings with the best in the TV industry. Having name writers recognized and celebrated within the industry behind a show is the key to getting the funds required to produce the show. TV is all about the writing and it’s this piece of the puzzle that will open all the doors for ZYKO when it comes to meeting with the major streamers (Netflix, HBO MAX, Hulu etc) and getting funded for 10 episodes. When we as producers have the money to allow a top tier Showrunner to begin working on the show, that’s when the real momentum for getting this show made at the highest level is born and we can involve the biggest platforms because we are presenting the biggest talents at the highest level. As independent producers, NFT collections are our new gateway to acquiring the finances necessary to develop a bulletproof ‘package’ for a TV show and with your support and involvement, together we can make it happen!

Essential packaging elements to get a show funded:

  1. For each individual network meeting; study the company/network. Know their universe. (is my pitch compatible?) Know their ratings, know how my show can lift those ratings. Know their competition and discuss how this show will outshine that competition.

  2. Showrunner. Writer. Star. Who are they and will they get an audiences attention? Who do we have that is going to change the energy in the room. This is why we include TV stars in the cast for the pitch. This is why we need to hire a Showrunner with a track record who the networks recognize.

  3. Is the show unique? What’s attractive about it? What’s the demographic? Who are the eyeballs going to be on this show?

  4. Communicate what we want them to buy. Prove the show has LEGS. We want you to buy this show because it has a strong central character, writer/showrunner with a track record and a story that can go places in many different directions to keep the audience excited and engaged for years to come.

Be a part of bringing ZYKO to life one step at a time and help us carve the new age path of
NFT TV Series development for independent artists. We’ve been preparing for years and are ready to go. Are you?

Thanks for being transparent in explaining this. It’s still not my cup of tea but I can definitely see the appeal behind the idea.

Any contingency plans if you are not able to hit this sales mark? I say this because NFTs can be very hit or miss. You can have great artwork that doesn’t sell but then a pixelated ape gets sold for millions of dollars. There’s a lot of factors that go to make an NFT launch successful as I’m sure you know. But in my opinion relying on this solely to fund your phase 1 would definitely take a leap of faith.

Yeah you said it, many factors involved in the value of an NFT. Sadly art is rarely valued by it’s quality, but often it is valued by the person/team that creates it and its cultural relevance. There’s a reason a pixelated ape sells for $420k, it is not random. That image has become a cultural icon in the age of NFTs because of the company that created it and the people behind it, utility, the community they’ve built, it’s not just by chance. The value that we are putting behind our NFT collection is that it is source material for an original IP with massive potential for a large global audience on major streaming networks. We are merging Hollywood with Harmony by attacking a marketing campaign with a top level advertising agency hitting the major TV/Film news platforms www.deadline.com / www.variety.com / www.thehollywoodreporter.com promoting the ZykoVerse NFT Collection 1 by involving actors everyone in that world knows with built in audiences to give relevancy and fan excitement to the project. An NFT project’s vision, function and audience engagement potential should all be taken into account when looking at what community you want to become a part of and invest in. Take a look at www.genzeroes.com for an NFT to TV series case study, they are currently in the process. Film producers who are experimenting in this space are having enormous success, we plan to follow the path they have carved before us and learn from their projects and adjust accordingly to make ours even more successful! Thanks for all your questions @sick_of_this these are great.

Absolutely, I appreciate that

Hi @jbeltran thank you so much for taking a look at it and for your interest in the project, we are looking forward to sharing more with you. This week our team is creating an audio/visual experience just for you to bring you and the Harmony community further into the feeling of the show. I’ll drop a link to the video right here when it’s ready. Very soon. Can’t wait to share!!

i have my doubts that this would provide a benefit to the ecosystem if its only involvement is just an NFT sale, so, basically, you are presenting this, and then to get a grant say you’ll do NFT sales, sounds like a free money glitch attempt.
Not to mention sunny bought her own NFTs to meet the criteria, nothing ensures that the same wont happen here, on top of the little benefits to the ecosystem TVL.
that said, i suppose this is a lot less cringe than vegan africa DAO…
