Tokenizing Silicon Valley - A Crowdfunded Web3 and Metaverse Summit & Expo
Bi-weekly Meetup for networking, learning and community building leading up to the event.
Proposal overview
Tokenizing Silicon Valley is formed by a group of like-minded individuals who are extremely exited about the emergence of the Web3 space. The purpose of the summit is to demystify the crypto and Web3 space for many people who are curious about crypto and blockchain. We want to bring together the foremost creators in the Web3 space to our convention to educate people about Web3 in order to propel the space forward. Our mission is to help shape the development of Web3 and the metaverse for a more democratized human experience. Proceeds of this event will be used to fund future conventions and seed other Web3 projects.
Our event will be held July 14-16, 2022 in the Santa Clara Convention Center. Leading up to the event, we have also been holding a bi-weekly meetup event in order to begin building a community and assist people in meeting others who have similar interest on the topic, and learn from each other. Our meetups are currently being held at Pier 402 in San Jose, after closing hours (7pm-9pm).
Proposal ask
As a small, personally funded startup, Tokenizing Silicon Valley is seeking to build a mutually beneficial relationship with Harmony. We would like to ask for a guest speaker from Harmony at one of our meetups (our next one is May 12), as well as at our convention in July to speak about Harmony and NFTs, possibly even on a panel. We would also greatly appreciate any Harmony swag that can be provided for either our meetups or our convention. We would be happy to include Harmony’s logo on our promotional content as well.
We would appreciate it if Harmony is able to fund $1000 for each meetup, to assist in covering costs. There are 5 meetups remaining until our convention so that would total $5000. If possible we would also like to request sponsorship of our convention. We have a number of sponsorship packages and Harmony is welcome to choose any one. If Harmony can provide any of the funding requests, whether partial or complete, we will be extremely thankful!
Metrics for success
We have been working very hard to secure our speakers for the convention. So far some confirmed speakers are:

Our convention will have a large expo space along with a theatre for keynotes and panels. Every paid attendee pass will be an NFT, and we are also working out the details of having a e-sport/game tournament set up, along with an AR and VR NFT gallery to allow people a chance to appreciate the experience.
Starting with just our meetups, we are seeing steady growth in members and attendees with every meeting. There are many people eager to learn, and we hope to provide the best place for them to do just that.
