AfroGames Brazil

AfroGames DAO

AfroGames is a project that emerged from the partnership between Grupo Cultural AfroReggae and Chantilly Produções, which aims to bring digital inclusion and social impact within the favelas of the Marvelous City. Focused on vulnerable youth, the project does this through the use of education and technology as strategies for social transformation.

The project also has a center for gamer culture and electronic sports, which trains and enables these young people to become professionals with high competitive potential in different segments.

Afrogames, started its operations in May 2019, is located in the favela of Vigario Geral, Rio de Janeiro, and serves 150 young people from 12 years old.

To this day AfroGames project takes eSports to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, discovering new talent and promoting their training and professionalization.

In order to promote the social and digital inclusion of people in vulnerable situations, the project will provide the opportunity to access the most modern

I approve for Project Y - Novell

AfroGames was one of the best project we saw in Rio, great potential for impact! I am glad to approve this as a part of a Harmony Y! Congratulations!

First of all, Ricardo, thank you for letting me know in person about such a good project and picking me up there.
I think that for this project I have to briefly recount my arrival to see it with my own eyes. My little history about it.
In the middle of the Favela Vigário Geral, Ricardo Chantilly and his team spend a long time working on a project to which he dedicates part of his sleeping hours. When one arrives along Rua Bulhões Marcial, Rua Dr. Adauto appears in the middle, an empty bridge that no one takes despite coming from the full road, which crosses to the other side.
Arriving at the Favela you have to negotiate some concrete potholes that protect the Favela from the outside world.
Right in the middle of the small town, stands a building that Ricardo and his team have converted over the years into a school that focuses on protecting as many people as possible, in this case, almost always children or young people from the risks to which that they face at all times and that surround them.

Ricardo achieves that, when entering that building, you disconnect and you can see a full effort to grow an attractive center for the youngest.

Right now, in certain rooms, full of computers, are children who, imbued with screens, as they help their families while protecting themselves. But it is that his idea, that of Ricardo’s team, goes beyond that disconnection. Through the expertise of the children’s games (Fortnite, League of Legends…) they manage to get a small salary that, for them, makes a difference.
All these Afro-Latin American children playing have caused the name of the building they return to every day to be called “Afrogames”.

Currently, they were unaware that the Crypto could reach their doors and be able to increase their daily income, to help and attract more children, both in that Favela, and in others.
The possibilities when visiting that Favela are infinite, since part of the team already has it,… but there is still a lot to do, a lot to train, in order to be able to grow floor by floor the building that from the first floor to the last with a raised fist on its roof, is crying out for the community, any community that visits the Favela, to help them.

Basic financial education, jumping to decentralized and game mode investment, like a Defikingdoms, like a CosmicUniverse or like a MarsColony, can change many lives. I’d love to have this happen. I’d like also to bring more ideas that I have in my head.

Change education from a work-based play to earn on web2 to a play to earn on web3… can change lives.
Let’s push it!!!

Congratulations AfroGames!!!
You have been funded
