Proposal overview:
Crypto Babes will be hosting their first IRL event for Bitcoin Miami 2022. This will be one of the largest women in crypto meetups in Miami (expecting 150-200 people in attendance) with the purpose to onboard women minorities from tech and finance into web 3.

The event will be happening on April 8th from 4pm-7pm est, and it will include the following agenda:

4:00-4:30 Networking and Introductions

4:30-5:00 Intro to Crypto and Blockchain: We would also touch base on 2022 crypto trends such as DAOs, NFTs and their utility in the Harmony One network.

5:00-5:30
Break/ Networking

5:30- 6:30 Career Panel: All roads lead to Web 3
In this panel we will highlight women in web 3 in all types of technical and non technical roles. They will share career insight, advice and challenges entering the space.

6:30-7:00pm
Questions and Discussions. We can also use this time to show people how to download the Harmony wallet and add the Harmony network in their Metamask.

The primary objective is to host educational workshops, foster women communities, and get people excited about starting their career in web 3.
Attendees will leave the event with a better understanding of crypto and blockchain, Crypto BabesX Harmony merch, and with Harmony 1 Wallet & MetaMask installed.

We offer free crypto education to women entering the space and those that want to further their journey in the space. Proposal ask:

Up to $3,500 in $ONE equivalent

Justification:

• Venue for event
• Producing printed Harmony and Crypto Babes T-shirts for attendees.
• Drinks and Food

Where

Depending on funding we will be choosing venue, but at this moment we have two venues to choose from:

1. The Ritz Carlton ( Less than a mile from the convention)

2. The Palm House ( 1 mile from the convention but still in Miami beach)

Date: Friday April 8th, 2022

Time: 4-7pm

Purpose

This is a community building and educational event where we want to cultivate relationships between women in web 3, onboard women into web 3 careers, and promote the Harmony Protocol.

Metrics for success

We anticipate over 150 people attending who are excited about starting their journey in crypto and blockchain. Additionally, we aim to hand out flyers, T-shirts, and potentially NFTs that spread awareness about Harmony in the Miami area.

Just as a breakdown for expenses we have the following

Venue: $6,000 (includes sound system set up, chairs, tables and one hour of complementary drinks)
Food and Drinks: $3,000
Shirts and merch: $1,500
Decoration and Branding: $200

Hi @Mattyontap The ask has not been increased, this would be a percentage of the event cost.
I put the budget of the event for transparency reasons, but we don’t expect harmony to be the sole contributor

Dear Harmony!
Thank you for supporting the Crypto Babes movement! As you will see in the pictures, we had an amazing turnout, with over 200 people in attendance and over 70% of them were women! This is a huge milestone for Crypto Babes, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your support.
We want to give a special shoutout to @ElixirofLife for helping me apply to the grant, to @Sam for helping us get merch to give out at the event, to @Mattyontap for helping with the many funding questions we had, to @lij for approving the funding, and @noura for helping with the harmony booth, answering wallet questions, and sharing her journey and expertise in the panel.
We feel extremely grateful, and moved by the amount of love and support we received. After the event we heard so many women share that they left excited, hopeful, and ready to grow in their crypto journey! We hope that we can continue this partnership and highlight the many ways that women can get involved in the Harmony ecosystem.
