Thirsty Thirsty DAO Pre Launch Grant Proposal

I think it’s important to remember the Harmony Eco-system exists outside of this forum. The founder and I met at a Harmony event at eth Denver. Each of us there because of a scholarship we won from the Blue DAO, a Harmony supported DAO. I am very active in a few DAO’s within Harmony. And proud of the work Thirsty Thirsty aim’s to accomplish. We plan to collaborate with other DAO’s within the Harmony eco-system. Continuing to on board people into web3 and uphold the community values Harmony holds so dear. If you have any questions about our ideas and how we plan to accomplish them, we are happy to answer. Take care

Hi, great to hear from you! Taking a look now.

The passport being refered to here is a technology service that is not the traditional passport one would carry around with them to travel.

My assumption re:501c would be that the current web3 landscape could likely involve legal counsel considering governments (will be more govts) have chosen to take a standing roll in the government of cryptocurrency and the realm that is web3

hi ya’ll we are here! just been busy with our first cohort and launch. appreciate you taking time to read through. most of us are new to this forum space and learning to get acquainted. i was actually brought into web3 via Blu3 DAO and Harmony. I found my core team member Trian since via scholarship to ETH Denver and many of my friends and biggest points of inspiration like Africa DAO and Hermes DAO. Very grateful to Harmony for helping us feel like we can innovate like this and with IMPACT in web3. We are a 501c3 as well.

The passports are a new product that is in the works via Cabin DAO. It is not a government issued document but rather a way for members to have their digital assets (membership NFTs, poapps etc) all in one place without needing their phone or data. Feels like an inclusive and innovative way to bridge URL and IRL experiences. That way when you show up to a restaurant location you dont need to show a clunky QR code on your phone or need phone data.

the 10k is a projection for legal fees. we are currently based in the US and determined to tokenize, but securities issues make it complicated. We really hope to be able to pay for professional legal consultations and support.

Incidentals are typically included and a small percentage of the total opp cost.

Hi there we are all new to the space. Ive been grateful many folks in our community which began in 2014 who are new to web3 have taken the time to create an account to support us here. >.< Happy to respond to constructive criticism, but the hostility is harmful and is completely the opposite of how ive experienced the Harmony community in real life at ETH Denver.

Web3 equals no government. I don’t think you understand what Web3 is supposed to be about.
Its basically, power to the people, no oversight committee.

No one governs in web3.

This isn’t hostility.
I am asking you questions based on the information you wrote above.

You do realize you will be responsible for tax implications as a 501C3 as soon as you spread your tokens out?

If you are based in the U.S., how do you plan on helping indigenous people in Africa and Brazil?

Do you have operations already setup in those countries?

I would like to thank the Thirsty Thirsty DAO for responding to the various questions on this thread. I would also like to remind Harmonauts of something:

When a project member or DAOist creates an account to support a proposal…

This is the first time icecoffee.eth has posted — let’s welcome them to our community!

…will appear.

Hello, @thirstythirsty

The Harmony DAO Ops team has decided to decline this proposal. The current funding request is out-of-scope.

We have found over the past year of DAO operations that the organizations that don’t start with a large, dedicated community and a goal to fund themselves tend to have very low success rates. They tend to have a hard time recruiting additional community support and tend to bring limited value to the overall Harmony ecosystem.

The bar to receive a DAO bootstrap grant is now higher than it has been historically. In order to receive a bootstrap grant going forward, DAOs will need to evidence a high level of transparent reporting, robust community involvement and a business plan that reflects a commitment to self-funding. Further guidelines are being finalized and should be released in the coming week.

I apologize that this process has been lengthy and drawn-out and I appreciate yours and the DAOs patience. Harmony and the DAO Ops team wanted to exhaust every option before responding with a declination.

Do not let this dissuade you or your DAOs passion to build on Harmony. Harmony is integrating new tools to help build a robust DAO ecosystem. I’m looking forward to your success.
