Proposal overview
We’re facing a revolution in the paradigm of hiring and work. Now, more than ever, individuals can work remotely, anonymously, across multiple jobs, and the focus of attention has shifted from university degrees and big corp credentials to micro-experiences and skills. A new approach is required as we onboard new talent into web3. When was the last time you heard a college kid find a web3 job through LinkedIn?
W3BRES is building a platform to bridge the opportunities in web3 to college students, young people, and ultimately, the entire population. Many college students today are desperate for jobs/work experience, and there is also an abundance of DAOs looking for contributors. W3BRES provides a platform that brings these web3 opportunities to the masses, and will issue an NFT per each task/job, creating an on-chain resume. Users will be able to log in with their wallet, collect work experiences, and build their reputation with pseudonymous identities.
We are planning on forming a DAO and connecting 1k users to work in web3, through traditional registration forms, before launching an engineered solution that would require users to register with a wallet.
We are requesting $50K in equity-free contribution.
- $10K after forming a DAO for our community
- $10K after 1K daily active users (with launch video, full PR promotion)
- $10K after launching a feature-complete product on testnet
- $10K after mainnet launch with audit
- 10K for after 10K users.
In addition to funding, we would love to work with Harmony in getting more talented young people involved in web3, such as through onboarding them as contributors to Harmony’s DAOs.
Team overview:
Skyler Chan (CEO): Chief Recruiting Officer at SEDS Canada, involvement with many web3 projects including CityDAO, MartianDAO, Monument Labs. Berkeley EECS.
Peter Zhu (CTO): Ex-Team Canada Science Fair, founding team & head of product at 15MM seed val startup, built & ran a 6-figure software development agency. Brown University.
Just a year ago, both of us were just like any other 18-year-old looking for an internship. After learning/building many things with startups and DAOs, we believe we are in the prime position to take on this problem of bridging web3 opportunities to the general population - people whose shoes we used to be in.
Our product will both benefit from Harmony’s cost-effective ecosystem and align with Harmony’s mission to bring on more contributors and builders into web3.
Our milestones are:
- Weeks 1-3: Form DAO and begin building a community for connecting college students/young people with web3 opportunities
- Weeks 4-5: While building platform, achieve 1K daily active users on web2 platform/DAO
- Weeks 6-7: Build platform and launch on testnet
- Week 8-9: Audit & launch platform on mainnet
- Weeks 10-14: Acquire 10K daily active users on mainnet platform
