You received 450k ONE or 60k dollars beginning of April. 9000 ONE is ~350 USD.
The multisig has ~270k ONE after two months of operation. This thing won’t exist in half year when funds dry out…

Dear @Sbae, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Your message is useful to give some much needed context regarding the operations of the DAO.
The market downturn has meant that our initial capacity to bootstrap the project has been reduced greatly. We decided from the start to leave our treasury in ONE tokens. This was a very unfortunate mistake. We should have managed our treasury differently and sticked to stablecoins or a diversified portafolio. We did not see this sharp downturn in the crypto market coming.
Nonetheless, as we adjusted our budget to ONE tokens for every item in the budget posted here, we had to get creative about how to start our grants programme. It would have been lovely to give out three $5k animal aid grants, but that money has been reduced severly. With the 9000 $ONE tokens we were aiming towards approximately $500 dollar microgrants.
How to go about this has another layer of complexity disregardless of market conditions. After studying our local animal care foundation ecosystem we have noticed that it is very difficult to locate projects that actually treat animals in a dignified way. There is a lot of work to do in order to scale up the operations of animal shelters to comply with basic ethical concepts that we as a community share. Our first grant given to Sabia was very well studied on the ground given the life conditions and care given to the Dogs there, and in comparison to other Animal Shelters @Rufo21 has been in touch with. We are hoping to expand our support and collaboration with Sabia as Aura Dogs Animal Shelter ambassadors carrying forward. This is the idea behind the micro grant programme. Sustained help instead than all at once while we prepare to create a DAO platform that will allow them to become part of the crypto ecosystem in a more elegant way.
We still have 85744.02 ONE tokens to deliver in our animal aid and care programme. We will carry forward under a micro grant programme until we scale the capacity to aid the shelters more. Hopefully, with the use of a technological platform that will help them transition from asking for donations towards selling digitial assets in order to fund their operations. We hope that our draft whitepaper deliverable will be useful in explaining how we are thinking about sustaining the DAO in this way. I invite you to read that once it’s published. We would love to hear your constructive criticism regarding it!
