Compensation
Base Pay
Currently, Governors are paid 75$ USD per hour, with a maximum of 10 hrs per week.
Adjustable Compensation Amendment
Under the current payment mechanism enforced by the Harmony DEV DAO, it should be possible to request additional or less compensation than the base 75$ per hour for the the 10hour maximum, if a candidate wishes to do so.
Currently this would be decided by a majority vote from the Governor multisig; as in the elected governors would effectively have final say about appropriate compensation for their peers.
With that said, current Governors are requesting that all future candidates publicly communicate their desired compensation during their election announcement moving forward.
Adjustable Compensation Amendment: Why?
The request is to allow for a balanced budget per election cycle, to allow for the highest quality Governors, and to give both the voting population and your elected Governors a chance to appose/support your compensation request.
10 Hours+ Amendment
If there is additional work which you would like to perform beyond the 10 hour maximum, that work can currently be defined and requested via our bounties program.
With that said, Governors which perform bounties cannot be paid their standard Governor rate, nor does it count off your 10 hours.
HDD Bounties Approval Amendment
Under the current payment mechanism enforced by the Harmony DEV DAO, it should be possible to operate where these bounties are completed by anyone because they must be approved by a 5 of 9 Governors vote, under a consensus vote that the bounty is a valuable use of Harmony Developer DAO Funds; during the creation of the bounty.
With that said, current Governors are requesting that all future candidates publicly communicate their desire to complete a bounty which they are involved in drafting-of and to recuse themselves publicly from helping to decide the pay for that bounty’s work.
Core Team Bounties Approval Amendment
It is noted that there are also bounties available, which can be approved and funded by the Harmony Core team.
With that said, current Governors are requesting that all future candidates publicly communicate their desire to complete a bounty which they are involved in drafting-of and to recuse themselves publicly from helping to decide the pay for that bounty’s work.
