Proposal overview

Hello! Our team, Identix.Space is applying for a project called Identix.Quests. Identix.Quest is a quest platform that helps Web3 newcomers to get proper hands-on experience of using blockchain products. We believe that the next billion Web3 users are still to come. Therefore, we focus not on the redistribution of the current audience but aim to attract those people who wish to join Web3 but are afraid to lose funds or suspicious about getting into a scam project.
The idea is to develop award-winning gamified scenarios (quests), each of which introduces the user to some knowledge of Web3. Speaking about the very beginning of onboarding, as a rule, this is a kind of some basic web3 operations such as connecting a wallet, swapping tokens, staking and etc. The more the user learns, the more complicated the quests become and the greater the reward. Further, the division by subject areas (cryptocurrencies, NFTs, DAOs) may appear.

It is assumed that reward bonuses can be used for discounts or exclusive access to real Web3 services. We also suppose that in the future our partners (dApps) can develop their own quests and involve experienced Web3 users (developers, designers) to solve their real tasks.

To test our hypotheses, we’ve developed a Telegram bot with several basic quests for Polygon ecosystem services. This allows us to get the first feedback and collect analytics before creating a full-fledged web application. Then we developed a web prototype after we received feedback from the community and cust dev interviews. Currently, we develop a quest campaign for the Everscale ecosystem. It will be live in May 2022.

We believe that gamified quest platform will stimulate the onboarding of new users to web3 in general and Near-built dApps in particular, thereby contributing to network effects and ecosystem development.

We propose to develop the questline in accordance with the proposals and advice of the Harmony community. We are ready to participate in community calls and take into consideration which services are the hottest in the ecosystem.

Proposal ask

40.000 USD for a questline development. The questline will include a Telegram-bot and Web scenarios. The scenarios will include 4-6 quests divided into 5-8 small steps that can be passed in several clicks/taps. The payment is divided into 2 installments: 20.000 USD before the start of the development (May 2022) and 20.000 USD after the launch of the Telegram-bot (June 2022).
15.000 USD divided into 3 installments (by 5.000 USD) for airdrops to pay transaction fees and allow users to buy cheap and basic assets of current Harmony ecosystem services.

Metrics for success

1st milestone (1st week June 2022): Start of the Telegram-bot campaign. The reception of the first airdrop installment.
2nd milestone (2nd week June 2022): 1000 users that started the campaign. The analysis of the questline performance.
3rd milestone (3rd week June 2022): 1500 users that started the campaign. Delivering the next version of the bot in accordance with the cust dev session corrections. The reception of the second airdrop installment.
4th milestone (5th week July 2022): 5000 users that started the campaign (40% passed the whole questline). Publishing the Web-version of the questline. The reception of the third airdrop installment.
5th milestone (8th week July 2022): 10000 users that started the campaign. (40% passed the whole questline).

Thanks for your proposal, it has been assigned to @Jacksteroo, who will review and respond shortly :blue_heart:

@Aliaksei_Varabei welcome to Harmony!

Yes, I do think you’re on the right path. There’s product-market-fit for the current architecture of Web3 mainly driven by Metamask wallet and its similar browser extensions. In the coming quarters or even months, there may be different solutions deployed which will not require this architecture, and things could change really quickly from underneath you.

Also, this proposal does not fit a Port grant based on the guidelines at Apply for Grants or DAO for the following reasons:

Harmony serves as a cross-chain platform by porting exisiting applications from Ethereum, Polygon, Polkadot, Cosmos and other chains. As mentioned above, projects of “100 Ports” will receive $50K-250K each, totaling $20M in grant amount. We target the top 25% projects across chains with most tractions and highest potential: DeFi apps should have at least $20M total locked value or 20% sustained yields; NFT mints or games 10K daily active users; DAO $100K payouts. Highly vibrant and engaged communities usually have social metrics of 50K Twitter followers, 10K Discord members, 5000 active wallets, and 1000 Telegram daily online.

For these reasons, we’re unable to move forward with this proposal.

Meanwhile, if you do decide to still launch on Harmony to expand your reach, it’s a permission-less platform which you are free to use. As an example, many of the DeFi platforms on Harmony have done so successfully by engaging Harmony’s vibrant community.
