REAL Change: Healing the World at the Local Level

Name of Project

REAL change

Proposal overview

REAL change creates an ecosystem of people who put valuation on time, gratitude, energy and contribution. This DAO uses the inevitable transfer of REAL estate and a portion of a REAL estate agent’s commission to stay funded. Eventually, by using this new currency and minting properties with out NFT protocols and smart contracts, we can create a way for REALTORS to create legacies in the community by giving back and earning residual governance as well as create a fund that decentralizes the Real Estate industry to make fractional investment in property accessible to even those experiencing homelessness.

  1. Goal 1 - set up a wallet for REALTORS, local market of businesses and non-profits so they can all communicate with the same internal currency in the small town of Bisbee, Arizona.
  2. Goal 2 - set up wallet for Neighbors and those in need so that they can buy goods, donate and stay informed/vote on decisions for investment.
  3. Goal 3 - Launch in Tucson, AZ - Phoenix, AZ - Los Angeles, CA, Salt Lake City, UT and Hawaii (We already have REALTORS in these areas)

What stage of the product or idea are you (and your team) at? Is it live on Harmony and/or another chain? How many active users do you currently have, or aim to acquire? How much funding do you need? What are your milestones? What help do you need, or what gaps are there in your team?]

  1. The product is still in the early phases of developing the community. So far we have had about 300 grassroots members who have been donating. There are another 2K that are colder - they follow and sometimes are active). We have an addition 45K+ people that are following but not actively participating.

Hi BarkleyRomero!
I was unable to review your project. It seems that site is down.

You should make sure that the site does not fall for at least 3 days after the publication of the offer

My most sincere apologies in this delayed response.

The Harmony DAO Ops team will resume approvals and funding on May, 1st. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we learn best practices and navigate the proposal process. In the meantime, please take a look at the updated DAO Funding Guidelines.

note: this comment is not an approval of the proposal

Hello, @BarkleyRomero

The Harmony DAO Ops team has decided to decline this proposal.

We have found over the past year of DAO operations that the organizations that don’t start with a large, dedicated community and a goal to fund themselves tend to have very low success rates. They tend to have a hard time recruiting additional community support and tend to bring limited value to the overall Harmony ecosystem.

The bar to receive a DAO bootstrap grant is now higher than it has been historically. In order to receive a bootstrap grant going forward, DAOs will need to evidence a high level of transparent reporting, robust community involvement and a business plan that reflects a commitment to self-funding. Further guidelines are being finalized and should be released in the comming week.

I apologize that this process has been lengthy and drawn-out and I appreciate yours and the DAO’s patience. Harmony and the DAO Ops team wanted to exhaust every option before responding with a declination.

Do not let this dissuade you or your DAOs passion to build on Harmony. Harmony is integrating new tools to help build a robust DAO ecosystem. I’m looking forward to your success.
