Name of Project
Storey X Harmony: Sustainable clothing rewear and resell on Harmony
Proposal overview
Our vision is to create a more sustainable fashion economy by making second-hand fashion inventory transparent and circular, one wardrobe at a time. We currently have an iOS App that has these core value propositions:
Rewear.
It seems obvious, but most of us don’t wear at least 50% of our wardrobes. We’re changing all that by giving people better visibility on what they (and the rest of the world) own. Connecting your camera roll, Gmail inbox, and online checkout carts to Storey is the easiest way to see your entire wardrobe in the palm of your hand —all inside of our virtual closet app.
Restyle.
Visualizing what you own means having fun mixing & matching your current wardrobe to create outfit combos and get more value out of your items. With our Outfit Collage, Collections, Moments, and Outfit of the Day features, you’ll be surprised by what you can wear with this or that, without having to buy something new. You’ll also be inspired by what other Storey users create with their own wardrobe items—and you can even buy them—making for an incredibly easy way to shop more sustainably.
Resell.
Our vision is to create a more sustainable fashion economy. This includes reducing waste in the fashion industry. View the value of your entire wardrobe and pricing estimation for individual items. Sell items that you think are destined for someone else’s closet, right within Storey.
Harmony Integration
We would like to integrate a Storey Token and NFT digitisation service for our users so they can
a) gain Tokens and Badges as a reward for rewearing clothing by posting ‘Moments’ in our app (Instagram style images and videos with clothing tagged)
b) produce Virtual Clothing via NFTs as part of an incentive to upload more of their clothes, so they can trade them in an open marketplace.
Our thesis is that moving people into a mixed reality of virtual and real clothing will increase second-hand “recommerce”, and also provide value going into the future as a person’s XR persona becomes just as important to them as their real life one.
We are asking for funding to staff up a specific Virtual Clothing development team. With this funding the usage will be broken into:
Development & Design
- UI/UX Design for Critical User Journeys
- Blockchain development and security audit for Token integration and NFT pipeline
- App Frontend + Backend development
- Digitisation pipeline from uploaded digital imagery (including video) to 3D model
- Rendering and viewing of Virtual Clothing
Marketing
- Community Management - our number one priority is to continue to build out the Storey community, to really foster a place where people can discuss and partake on the future direction of the product, and get more engagement and retention on the platform.
- Influencer marketing
- Programmatic Ads
Milestone Tranche
Launching Storey Virtual Clothing on a test-net (3D digitisation pipeline, NFT minting) $10k
After launching Storey Virtual Clothing on the Harmony mainnet with audit $20k
After 1K daily active users (with video launch, full PR promotion) $10k
After 2k daily active users $10k
Current Team
Founded in 2020 by two ex-Google colleagues, Nicole Kobilansky and Tak Fung brought our collective passion to life: reducing waste in the fashion industry.
Nicole Kobilansky is co-founder and CEO of Storey. After working at Google’s moonshot factory (aka Google X) - home to radical technologies like Google Glass and Waymo Driverless cars - Nicole set out on her own journey of being a startup founder.

Tak is co-founder of Storey, with extensive experience in Technical/Engineering Leadership roles for many years in multiple companies. Having exited his own mobile games startup during the early iPhone era he moved on to create and lead teams at NaturalMotion/Zynga and subsequently Google. He currently works from Shanghai with the Engineering team on Storey - satisfying his passion for beautiful software and helping the planet sustain itself for longer. He also keeps advisory/consultancy roles in Video Games and Blockchain startups.

Partnerships
Storey is currently collaborating with London Design studio Dandelion & Burdock (https://dandelion-burdock.com/) to produce some of the Virtual clothing digitisation pipeline, as well as a new line of Storey limited edition fashion items to be released at launch. They are an extremely well regarded studio that have already produced award winning content with Disney / Nike / Google and others (see their website).
We would also like to partner with Harmony on issues around getting security audits and promotions with Harmony. I know there are other funds for this so maybe that will be a separate longer term proposal.

Metrics for success
We want to grow community as a core measure of success, along with the number of transactions in the market. Our success metrics around community would be:
- At least 1K DAU, high end would be 5K DAU
- Virality from community recommendations and sharing to hit ‘1 for 1’
- 3% of our community making transactions on the platform (whether for real or virtual clothing) at an average value of $100.
