Proposal Overview:
Vibe Stream Network seeks to solve problems with the music industry using Web3 solutions. Our founders have a combined 50 years of experience in the entertainment industry working as artists, executives, grammy board members, and community builders. We will be bringing our content, community, and connections to the Harmony ecosystem and provide a home for thousands of artists, producers, musicians, and their fans on the blockchain. This will be achieved through innovative smart contracts that address true ownership, distribution, and royalty collection.
This venture will be the foundation to future plans of expanding Vibe Stream Network into an even bigger platform with globally known partners and sponsors. Currently, the back end of the streaming/licensing website is complete, smart contracts have been created, front-end development is underway, and beta testing is around the corner. We look forward to partnering with Harmony to enhance the vision and make this product reality. Let’s Grow!
VSN Components:
- Royalty Distribution via Smart Contracts: Royalty splits will be input during the upload of content and percentages will be assigned to external wallet addresses. When a song generates revenue of any kind, that revenue will be automatically split and distributed to the wallets based on the smart contract. Funds will go directly from fans to artists/producers in a true peer to peer economy. Basic legal contract templates will be provided to users with the flexibility to modify according to the agreement of the involved parties.
- VSN Catalog Licensing: Our catalog that is created via livestreamed shows will be available for licensing in movies, television, videogames, GameFi protocols, DAO’s, and more. Users who upload their own catalog will also be able to utilize the licensing feature through the Vibe Stream Network. When an entity licenses from the catalog, they will receive a NFT receipt with the amount of songs and duration of license.
- Tipping Capability: The crypto space is incredibly generous and we plan to bring that generosity to struggling artists. Our platform will allow for fans to tip for songs, beats, compositions, and instrumentals that they enjoy. A $1 tip on a stream is 1000x what that user would receive for a play on a major streaming platform. This will tremendously help audio artists as they can make a living with less of a fan base.
- Song/Album Split Shares: Users will have the option of selling percentages of their content via NFT’s. Fractalizing NFT’s is quite a popular idea in the Web3 space, so this shouldn’t be a foreign concept. However, imagine getting Snoop Dogg to upload an exclusive single where the fans have the opportunity to OWN portions of its revenue share. When they purchase one of the NFTs they are then included in the smart contract royalty split any time that song is licensed, tipped, or used in any kind. Finally, artists can treat their art like ASSETS and fans can quite literally be invested in their favorite upcoming artists’ album, music video, or merchandise. This will provide tons of start up liquidity to artists who can then reinvest those funds into their process via marketing or more content. The possibilities here are endless and exciting.
- Web2/Web3 Hybrid Purchasing: Vibe Stream Network will be able to be utilized both with cryptocurrency and fiat. In order to make purchases or receive funds in fiat, a user will need to complete a KYC form. The decentralized nature of the space can not be underestimated. However, when discussing mass adoption and onboarding new users, we believe opening participation to everyone is key.
- Crosschain Functionality: While the team plans to launch on Harmony and use the ONE blockchain as its primary home, they also believe that the future of the space is multi-chain. Therefore, users will have the option of accessing the platform using other popular blockchains such as Ethereum, Avalanche, Fantom, or Cronos. At the end of the day, we believe in Harmony to be the perfect host for our product and will bring massive traffic to the network.
- Individualized Streaming Services: Rather than $10 a month for all of the music in the world, where the artists themselves only see fractions of a penny, our network will allow for users to upload their catalog and set a price for their own monthly subscriptions. Users will have complete freedom and flexibility on determining the price and duration of each subscription as well as what is included with the purchase (NFT, concert tickets, exclusive content, etc.).
- Vibe Stream Network Content: In addition to hosting the platform, Vibe Stream Network will also be cultural curators. Our experienced team will find the best talent and highlight them in our shows, streams, blogs, and content. This is taking the community to the next level. Vibe Stream Network will provide those that truly hustle with opportunities, resources, and accessibility in a way that has never been done before. We will also give away percentages of songs or beats via raffles and lotteries to viewers live. Fans, producers, artists, and musicians will all benefit from Vibe Stream Network. We are truly about the people.
- Vibe Stream Radio Lounge: Vibe Stream Network will have a 24/7 Lounge and radio station constantly playing original music from the Vibe Stream Network catalog. Here, users will be able to hang out, discuss the tracks, and tip anything they enjoy. Everything will be neatly labeled so users can search the music for streaming, licensing, or purchase. In this lounge you will also be able to view livestream shows where music is being produced, recorded, engineered and more.
- Vibe Stream Beats and SoundPacks: Vibe Stream Network will collaborate with classical musicians to play instruments and turn their sounds into samples. These SoundPacks will then be linked to the musicians via smart contract, and they will be credited when their sounds are used to make a beat. Additionally, we will contract high-end producers to make beat packs using the sounds that are created by these musicians. The beat packs can then be bought or licensed by artists. When a song is fully completed, every contributor will receive percentages in the smart contract. It is the Intellectual Property that keeps on giving!
Our Story:
Vibe Stream Network was born out of the pandemic. The story of Vibe Stream Network is one of triumph; truly turning the lemons we were given into lemonade.
In the years prior to its inception, DJ Journey had been working with Public Enemy, producing a catalog of thousands of beats, hosting a radio station where he would play completely original material, and sitting on the board of the Grammy’s to fight for the rights of artists in streaming content.
Simultaneously, Tre Rail was founding a Hip Hop app and community of over 300,000 global users, curating live events, partnering with BMI, and shooting documentaries to demonstrate the process for artists to put themselves out there in the modern world.
DJ Journey and Tre Rail had first met when Tre brought his community to DASH Radio (240k Followers) for live twitch streams where industry judges were reviewing music and giving away prizes like radio time. Journey, who was working at DASH at the time, took an interest in Tre’s music and business and asked him to collaborate. The collaboration went so well, they formed a partnership and have been streaming a weekly show with guest producers; publicly building out a massive catalog of hundreds of beats.
The world shifted in 2020 and the entire industry was up in the air. Live shows, conventions, networking opportunities, socials, and mixers all came to a halt. There was little clarity on how long it would take for the dust to settle. While most watched Netflix and clung to social media, Tre and Journey formed a business, provided meaning to a community, and made the industry more accessible without ever meeting each other in person.
From there, they built out an entire network station amassing 8 shows with 6 different hosts in various languages to cover the entire 300k user base that Tre Rail had built. They also collaborated with artists in the network to create mixtape compilations. In addition, they focused on artist development and providing feedback to new users to improve their music.
The duo has since added a third partner, Tiz The Time, to manage production, logistics, contracts, and overall business organization. Tiz’s lengthy experience in the Entertainment Industry and connections to investors, lawyers and business savvy individuals serves as an extraordinary catalyst for the growth of Vibe Stream Network. Together, our creativity, drive, and vigilance are focused on longevity.
The amount of time, effort, and love that has been put into Vibe Stream Network’s music deserves more than a standard release. There was simply no place adequate enough to release our treasure trove of sounds. So, we are building it. Not just for ourselves, but for musicians everywhere.
