Virtue DAO - First Harmony Charity DAO

Proposal Overview

Virtue DAO—non-profit Harmony blockchain-powered organization driven by a community dedicated to helping civilians in need.

Our task is to unite the projects and people in WEB3 around a good cause and show others that Harmony is more than just a blockchain.

Mission and Vision

In Ukraine, for more than 20 days there is a full-scale war with Russia. The residents of Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkiv, Lviv, Ukrainian- and Russian-speaking citizens, people from the industrial or tourist regions, liberals, nationalists, socialists, miners, and bloggers fight together for their liberty and independence.

It is not only Ukraine’s war for freedom and independence, it is the war of the entire civilized world! And the price for it all, the blood and tears of the Ukrainian people.

This is why our mission is to unite not all of the world, but at least the people and projects within the Harmony network! We ask for your support!

All profits from this project will be sent for the purchase of ambulance cars, generators for field hospitals, and medicines to save victims of war.

By combining the philanthropic and blockchain spaces, together we will be able to accomplish something truly spectacular - to leverage the web3 technology for saving peoples’ lives. To ensure the legitimacy of the project after buying, you will be able to get a full report on where that money was transferred and what was purchased. You can find more information in our Twitter.

Today we can help Ukrainians, and tomorrow we will help people from Zanzibar or Moldova, Spain and other countries. Perhaps our fellow DAO crypto-enthusiasts will need our help.

We believe that together we can do it. Harmony is not only about blockchain, but first of all about people and community. People over the process.

Hi! My name is Denis (Spacemo) and this is a piece of my story.

I was born in a small town in western Ukraine, in Ternopil. In my city 95% of the people speak Ukrainian. Ternopil is a quiet town with a small lake, wonderful parks and kind people. From Friday to Sunday you can see a lot of people walking around the city and parks, sitting in cafes, chatting, laughing and dreaming.

On February 24, 2022, everything has changed.

No one sits in cafes or walks in parks now, laughter has been replaced by tears and sadness. But despite the hard times, we still dream… We dream of peace, perhaps this dream is one for all of Ukraine’s 41,000,000 inhabitants.

Even war will not break our spirit, our zeal and will not destroy our values and ideals.

We have gathered a team of like-minded people and created Virtue DAO, together we want to do good. All of us have realized that there is no your or my grief, now our whole country Ukraine is in trouble. Today all Ukrainian people need help, and tomorrow someone else may ask for help, and our task is to be a ray of hope for these people, at least for a moment.

We want to be the red ribbon that unites Harmony community and brings us all together for one great goal - to help people.

Join us, subscribe and support us!

I was born and grew up in the city of Kharkiv, which is called the scientific capital of Ukraine. Kharkiv is known throughout the world for its higher education institutions, research institutes and industrial enterprises. Kharkiv is a peaceful and beautiful city with a population of 1.5 million people. There are a lot of students from different countries of the world in my city. In 2012 110 thousand fans visited three matches of European championship on soccer - Euro 2012 in Kharkiv.

According to international experts, in 2021 Kharkiv was called one of the most comfortable and safe cities in Eastern Europe. Kharkiv is located 40 kilometers from the border with the russian federation.

My name is m1m2 and I am an active member of the Harmony community since 2021. I believe that Harmony and its technologies will bring a lot of benefit to my country Ukraine and the whole progressive world. That is why I began to study the Harmony project, attract active users who are able to create educational programs and educational content. Together with the guys from ONEruDAO and the authors of the cryptocoinexpert.info website we started to create an introductory course in Harmony technology and introduce it to teachers and students of Kharkiv higher educational institutions. We plan to create a training course “Blockchain and smart contracts”.

But on February 24, 2022 everything changed…

Lawlessness and terror become part of everyday life wherever russia appears!

Early in the morning of 24.02.2022, russia began shelling Ukrainian cities with ballistic missiles and introduced its troops into Ukraine. My hometown is bombarded daily by russian artillery. Residential neighborhoods, the historical part of the city, educational institutions, hospitals, and kindergartens have been damaged as a result of the shelling.

Kharkiv is shelled with rockets from the “Grad” and “Smerch” multiple-launch rocket systems, shells, high-explosive aerial bombs, the use of vacuum bomb and “Lepestok” cluster bombs with mines has been proven. As a result of bombing and shelling, many areas of Kharkiv were destroyed.

To date, more than 1 million people have been evacuated from Kharkiv. Many residents left in the city (the elderly, women and children) are fleeing the bombing in bomb shelters and subway tunnels.

This nightmare has been going on for more than 3 weeks and no one knows when it will end.

My life has changed a lot lately. War destroys not only city buildings, war takes the lives of peaceful people. The war has changed all the people of Ukraine, we have rallied to fight the russian occupiers, and the whole civilized world is helping us. That’s why I take part in Virtue DAO.

Today the friendly Harmony community can help Ukraine and the citizens of my country. We all will get an invaluable experience and in future we’ll be able to use this experience and Harmony technologies to help people in need all over the world.

Hi. My name is Yulya, my hometown is Kharkiv. The house where I live with my husband and child is located in the Florinka settlement (northwestern outskirts of the city). Until February 24, 2022 this place was considered prestigious, wealthy, environmentally friendly and safe to live in. I did not even want to dream of a better place to live, everything is nearby, I reached the center of Kharkiv in 20-30 minutes by car, next to our house is a large lake, forest and clean air year round, and even quiet neighbors. We lived amicably and cheerfully, we went to visit our neighbors and our children became friends. I considered myself a happy man.

On the morning of February 24 my father called me and told me that the Russians had started a war. I did not believe it, but his voice was very serious. Soon my husband’s phone began to ring incessantly, the main news being the war. While we were gathering our thoughts, the news came in that Russian troops had entered the city of Kharkiv. This means that we can’t go anywhere, our house is behind the ring road, the control of which was taken by the Russian occupants.

I don’t want to describe the further nightmare. We spent six days in the basement of our house. A few kilometers away from us there were real battles, we heard shells exploding and small arms fire. Fortunately, the Ukrainian Armed Forces regained control of the ring road.

At a family meeting we decided to evacuate to Western Ukraine. For a long four days we drove by car to the city of Lviv. There were many kilometers of traffic jams because of the roadblocks, and in some areas the speed was 10-20 kilometers per hour. The road was very difficult because of the large flow of cars, people with their families were fleeing from the war. We were all very scared. But people helped each other and were united by the common sorrow.

Lviv has been very hospitable to us. They helped us to find a place to live, told us the best way to go abroad. My husband stayed in Ukraine, and I went to Holland with my child. It took about 2 weeks to go from Kharkiv to Amsterdam. At every step I felt the help and support of people. Now I live in Amsterdam. The volunteers helped me to find a place to live. My child went to kindergarten. Now I am getting used to life away from my husband and father. My mother recently came to live with us. We started a completely new life. We keep in touch with Ukrainian volunteers and help collect humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian army. I have very little free time now.

Every day we work to defeat the Russian invaders. We will definitely win. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
