Hello Harmony Family!
I go by Access and some of you may know me as “that guy who posts all those mining strategy threads” for DFK. Recently there has been some discourse and lack of being on the same page between the core team, various DAOs, and the community itself. However, I genuinely believe we all have the same goals and at the end of the day want the same thing - the success, growth and adoption of Harmony. I will keep this intro short and sweet and dive straight into it.
Are there obstacles you see in being able to commit up to 10 hours/week as a DAO governor? This amount of time is not a requirement, but an inability to commit time by some members has been an obstacle for the current DAO council in progressing objectives.
I currently have no hard time commitments that would interfere and there are no foreseeable obstacles in the future that would get in the way of dedicating myself to this role.
What skills and/or abilities do you hope to bring that would be beneficial to the Community DAO?
A few of my personal traits that are relevant and will add value to the DAO are my passion to always learn and grow, tenacity to never veer away from tough or uncomfortable discussions, humility to see things not only from my own point of view but multiple other view points, and above all else a desire for complete transparency. I have a very “open door” policy and try to always seem as approachable as possible. I will treat you the same whether you are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company or are a hard working 9-5er.
In terms of skills I have been working in IT for nearly 2 decades in all facets of organizations including customer and client facing positions as well as internal managerial and team lead roles. Some of these titles include Project Manager, Product Manager, and System/Network Administrator. I pride myself on being able to spot inefficiencies in processes early and formulate solutions on how to course correct before they snowball.
How long have you been in the Harmony community and why do you want to run for a position on the council?
I first came to Harmony in October of 2021 when I discovered DeFi Kingdoms, and since then I dove off the ONE deep end and have continued to delve deeper and deeper into the ecosystem. Since then I have joined and been active in multiple communities and anyone that has spent any time here can tell you that this community is second to none. I want amplify the voices and desires of these communities so that we are not only on the same page, but are writing the next sentence and chapters together in unity.
My interest in a position on the council comes from a desire to make the Harmony ecosystem the premiere destination for not only GameFi projects, but for all developers looking for the right blockchain platform to build on.
However, in order to reach this goal we as a community have a fair number of obstacles to overcome. The good news is that we can triumph over most if not all of these obstacles with a push for open communication and transparency between the core team, DAOs, and the community itself. One of the biggest and best ways we can do this is to get the community more involved in the voting processes.
What timezone do you live in for the purposes of potentially scheduling a 2nd AMA?
EST, but this will not be an issue for any meeting or AMA regardless of timezone
