I decided to step forward because I have alot to offer to this community & Harmony at large.
Last term I contested & lost. So why here again you may ask? . It never deterred me since I learnt so much just by contesting. For someone who has never of her own accord contested in elective position, the saying goes " at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off & try again". Yeah am finally out of my comfort zone. So here I am again.
Working with Harmony NaijaDao at its foundational stage has enabled me to learn so much on what a DAO is & how it should be run. It actually reinforced my determination & resolve in giving my best right from the writing of their proposal , growing the community as team members while focused on achieving milestones such as growing the telegram group within two weeks from 200+ to 1200, planning & execution of a successful meet up amongst others.
In my firm belief that every Harmonaut should be a member of this DAO, i have been educating & engaging diverse community members of both Africa Dao on what a Dao is , how it ought to be run as well as Harmony Naija Dao on not just joining us in this community but also participating actively which effort has seen some become members & attend events too.
With my expertise in community management ; NaijaDao members are regularly carried along & updated on Dao activities, have interactive sessions to learn about the industry , how to navigate , leverage & key into opportunities utilising their skillset. WAGMI is the order of the day.
I have also been instrumental when it comes to treasury management strategies & planning. As regional DAO that receives fund after achieving a milestone, governors whom have been working since last year December are yet to receive any form of compensation as the little fund received had to be put into funding further deliverables to lift the burden of using personal finances after spending one’s time. Sustainability then seem the only way out as the awakened dreamers & buidLers to the Harmony vision of decentralisation, scaling of trust & creation of Radically fair economy hope has to be kept alive.
Continually there’s been research on how best the Dao can be run & designs on the steps forward. Thanks to experience , awesome team mates & wonderful selfless ONE community members of NaijaDao.
I was & still very outspoken in the DAOs I am a member such as Afrca Dao on issues that need to be tackled since DAOs are the future of work . Alot of the setbacks in the traditional system can be modified for a better future.
Daos require focus, work & perseverance most especially at the foundational level of dependency for funding . Without passion, determination & commitment from the governors nothing can be achieved. Even in the face of them giving it their all, getting active participation from community members & timely funding from Harmony can be frustrating yet they still have to keep trying. Here you will find me motivating & spurring everyone on.
I am that person that will not let an opportunity to learn pass me by hence you will often find me listening in or contributing on Twitter spaces , discord or telegram regardless of which DAO or project.
To answer the questions below;
- Are there obstacles you see in being able to commit up to 10 hours/week as a DAO governor? This amount of time is not a requirement, but an inability to commit time by some members has been an obstacle for the current DAO council in progressing objectives.
I see no obstacles to committing 10hours/governor per week as I believe that whatever is worth doing, is worth doing well especially for a cause one is passionate about.
- What skills and/or abilities do you hope to bring that would be beneficial to the Community DAO?
I am a team player with the zeal to meet set milestones. Also a critical , innovative thinker with high organizational skill having worked as a planning engineer & research scientist. I am a visionary & hardworking ( work smart actually & autonomously).
- How long have you been in the Harmony community and why do you want to run for a position on the council?
I have been around since June 2021 just watching things & keeping up till December when I decided to get more involved & now run for a position on the council to bring about more inclusion via gender representation & diversity on a global level.
- What timezone do you live in for the purposes of potentially scheduling a 2nd AMA?

Finally…
The governors have done tremendously well. Continuity & improvement can never be over emphasised.
It goes without saying “be the change you want to see” ; hence I want to contribute my own quota towards achieving our deliverables if you deem me worthy of working with you as one of the governors.
