Community Harmony ONE Central Ohio Location

Name of Event/Project

Partnership between Harmony ONE and the Quinif Family Foundation (Q Foundation) to develop a Central Ohio Hub for Harmony ONE Developers and other Web 3.0 small business startups.

Proposal overview

Central Ohio has become a hub for the tech world including the latest development which is maybe the largest Intel planet in the World. Facebook and Google have also called Central Ohio home. I am the Mayor of a small community about 35-40 miles from all of the activity. We consider ourselves a “Mayberry’’ of the tech era. We love our slower pace and we are finding many tech and crypto people alike are starting to find their way to our community because of the slower lifestyle. Parents feel safe letting their children walk or ride their bike to the park. We encourage everyone to get to know their neighbors and so on. Sounds corny but true. That is our vision. We feel Harmony ONE is a compliment to our way of life.

I have LOVED Harmony ONE since I first got into crypto and currently hold just under 60,000 and growing. What they are doing around the world for people is what we want our community to look like and more importantly feel like. We feel we can change people’s hearts one community at a time and want to become the model with Harmony’s help. One of our goals is to also educate the general public about the importance of cryptocurrencies and help them get set up and started.

Our Quinf Family Foundation’s vision is to create an affordable clean work environment for small start up businesses to conduct business away from home. Provide resources, training, and networking opportunities. We started a web development company in 2010 and have worked with many developers in the area and feel we can seamlessly transition into Web 3.0.

Another part of our goal is the promotion of Harmony ONE to our local community through sponsoring events. One such event that is scheduled and currently being planned is our Fourth of July fireworks display. In the past we have just put on an amazing fireworks display and served a few hot dogs and ice cream. This year we are going all out and having more of an old fashioned carnival style event. We want it to be more than our regular get togethers, we want people to RECONNECT this year. So we have partnered with some local musical talent that has offered to give us their time to help support the cause. Our goal is to NOT WEAR LABELS during this event. We want to gather, play old games, listen to music, break bread together, and RECONNECT again off of social media. We’d love to have a large Harmony ONE banner flying high. One more note about our fireworks display. All the money is raised by volunteers and for a small Village, it really competes and some say has been better than larger communities around our area.

Justification
We believe our community is positioned perfectly in Central Ohio to capitalize from the tech explosion going in throughout Central Ohio. Our community and the Harmony ONE missions are aligned which gives us the unique once in a lifetime opportunity to help reshape an entire Village.

Our web development company has been in business since 2010 and we have formed a relationship we some of the best coders in the area and feel this can give us an edge since developers can be hard to come by lately.

We are considering plans on sponsoring building naming rights, and unfortunately will not be approving this proposal.

We recommend hosting our own quarterly hackathons with $1M prizes each, sponsoring $100K workshops for industry-wide conferences, giving $50K keynotes in regional events, and empowering 100 local organizers – with $1K budget for a 20-attendee 2-speaker event, or $5K for 50 with 4 speakers, and $10K for 100 with a co-sponsor.

We do have an Ambassador DAO program that can help with the playbook of running local meetups and events, and we encourage that you reach out to them for more details on how to do so.
