Harmony event at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ.

Proposal Overview:

We will be hosting bi-weekly workshops at the University of Arizona campus in Tucson, AZ. The first event will include an introductory presentation on blockchain technology with an emphasis on how the Harmony blockchain works. We will also be encouraging attendees to participate in Harmony’s grants.

The primary objective of this event is to introduce students at UArizona to blockchain technology, and get the UArizona community excited about what Harmony has to offer.

Attendees will leave with a Harmony1 Wallet application installed.

Proposal Ask:

$2000 in $ONE equivalent.

Justification:

Advertising for the event in order to get a large number of students interested in attending.

Distribution of Harmony merchandize.

Chiragdeep Chatur:

Chiragdeep is a sophomore undergraduate student at UArizona who is majoring in Computer Science, and minoring in Mathematics and Economics. He has a deep interest in Cryptocurrency and has studied courses online, including a16z Crypto School and Gary Gensler’s lectures at MIT. He has also started coding in Solidity. He is developing a keen interest in #PlayToEarn Blockchain games and plans to #buidl one himself with a team of avid gamers at UofA. He is currently analyzing several white papers and tokenomics of several Blockchain games including Axie Infinity, Sanbox, Illuvium, Yield Guild Games and Merit Circle.

Osho Sharma:

Osho is a sophomore undergraduate student at UArizona who is majoring in Statistics and Data Science, and Mathematics. He has a deep interest in Cryptocurrency and has studied courses online, including a16z Crypto School and Gary Gensler’s lectures at MIT. He has a keen interest in Decentralized Finance and is studying several DeFi protocols including Aave, Ohm, etc.

Purpose:

The University of Arizona has an undergraduate population of more than 35,000 students. We intend to create a community of UArizona students who are interested in building on the Harmony blockchain. Our initial interest is around the Blockchain Gaming space, specifically #PlayToEarn games.

Long term Vision:

In the future, we plan to establish a student run Harmony club at the University of Arizona. Members of this club will include students who are passionate about blockchain technology and are especially interested in building on the Harmony blockchain. We intend for members of this club to participate in Harmony grants and receive support to successfully execute their ideas.
