Proposal overview

The Harmony Uganda University Blockchain Club focuses on playing a critical role in advancing blockchain education and addressing the current traditional challenges with an envision of Blockchain in particular Harmony the next generation sharding-based blockchain that is fully scalable, provably secure, and energy efficient which addresses the problems of existing blockchains in this case being an open source platform this enables anyone to build borderless applications, bridging with other networks thus full decentralization due to its heterogeneous feature on the network
This will be possible through hosting both physical and virtual meetups across different universities in the region, on boarding more developers, provision of educational content, tutorials, hosting One boot camps,Introducing Blockchain topics on the University curriculum , social media engagements among others
We shall use this grant to facilitate us periodically organize Meetup’s both virtual and physical Meetup’s to discuss different topics related to cryptocurrencies blockchain technology in Particular with Defi, DApps , NFTs etc on Harmony protocol Yes we would have tutorials and topics that could range from investing to development to technology thus meaning clubs would be open to all levels of knowledge, and hopes to inform the students and other members and inspire enthusiasm about Blockchain technology in particular Harmony one protocol
We shall use this grant to purchase some of the equipment to use forexample projector, projector screen, Portable public speaker, Camera, facilitate transport costs
In detail projector set and public speaker these would be used during our events for presentations in all Universities across the region saving us from the costs of hiring

This will bring together different blockchain communities in the various universities among others and other developer hubs In Uganda to join and learn more about Harmony protocol

Goal

To provide innovative blockchain solutions /applications with Harmony
Motivating students to take an active role in the blockchain revolution.
Teach students the complex nature of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, without bias ( most students have fallen victims of crypto scams due to lack of awareness about legitimate of the projects )
Bringing more adoption and application on Harmony and more integrations on other blockchains as well through hosting Meetup’s , boot camps for developers
Creation of content forexample infographics addressing challenges and solutions faced with current traditional industries especially the finance industry with an envision of Harmony blockchain

@Mattyontap can you help coordinate with @AhimbisibweBrian to get some context on this? It could align with our regional DAO plans.

@AhimbisibweBrian based on our Events guidelines, the requested amount should try to match the size of the event, and number of speakers

… empowering 100 local organizers – with $1K budget for a 20-attendee 2-speaker event, or $5K for 50 with 4 speakers, and $10K for 100 with a co-sponsor

Curious to know how Harmony is going to be brought up in the discussions.

Thanks for your response i will probably consider this an event for 50 with the event guidelines of 5k funding with four speakers at the event
Briefly at the meetup we would have an overview on the blockchain technology on how its addressing the current traditional challenges with an envision of Blockchain technology in particular Harmony protocol the next generation sharding-based blockchain that is fully scalable, provably secure, and energy efficient which addresses the problems of existing blockchains, being an open source platform enabling anyone to build borderless applications, bridging with other networks thus full decentralization due to its heterogeneous features on the network
Brainstorming on One protocol features and platform features
