hey @adi ,
thanks for the proposal. the German regional DAO is definitely that we want to have in our open community.
let me highlight points that are highly important for us, when it comes to DAOs
when the decision on daos was made (regional daos included) we thought on open participation for everyone. that means we’re not looking for a way for centralising them (even if at the first steps it might look so) and want to start a (regional) dao with open participation, but not to move the way centralised team that takes over mandates or deliverables.
also, this is a good idea to unite people by language not a specific area, because the language is the asset to communicate within permissionless community. for instance we did the same for the russian-speaking dao and it works well, combining together people from different countries helped us to amplify our deliverables more than required, e.g. 10 grantees vs 5 meant as a deliverable.
that’s why starting the regional German DAO I would recommend you cooperate with the existing German community that we have already, move this initiate forward, post you candidacy together with other council volunteers (and members of your team) and let the german community to decide who should be in the first council.
for all this written above you have up to 6 weeks initial period which we recommend complete by following deliverables:
- build a tiny telegram DAO community;
- recruit 9+ governor candidates;
- post DAO proposal;
- revitalise regional section on forum;
- set up a snapshot space and pass governors through voting ;
ps: i personally currently work on the guide for regional daos and heading to make it public soon (after team will get back form ethDenver to the work and we can approve that)
pps:
this is not an appropriate joke I guess
