Mission and vision
We are happy to announce that we built the GermanDAO and are proud to submit the following to officially establish the GermanDAO (a regional community DAO).
Germany, Switzerland and Austria with its German speaking community are lacking a structure, where they could come together as a community. We want to provide a platform to discuss and exchange knowledge, assisting people in need of help or just to come together and have a good time.
Unfortunately, the word of Harmony hasn’t spread as much in the German speaking regions as in other parts of the world and we are making it our purpose to change that through meet-ups, the above mentioned amazing helpful community platforms and more.
We already held a vote on the harmony community forum and voted for 9 Governors, which already began their work.
Course of Action
The GermanDAO takes on obligations and responsibilities to carry on different types of community activities to implement the Mandates.
As the community type of a DAO we will definitely focus on growing and diversifying the German speaking community around Harmony and its ecosystem to implement objectives for a regional type of Harmony DAOs 4 as follows:
- elect 9 governors (already done)
- set organisation email addresses, shared calendars
- set up Discord with roles, public/private 1 channels
- set up Telegram with admins assigned to governors;
- set up Twitter delegated to governors and starting to post
- setting up a Harmony forum 1 category to situate all discussions;
Sustainability
We at the GermanDAO will make it our goal to be self-sustained as fast as possible. Our vision is to be able to run different projects without any funding from Harmony or third parties. Even though sustainability is a very big challenge for any DAO, we are confident that we can reach that goal.

A few words about our Governing Candidacies
The elected Governors of the GermanDAO are from Germany, Austria and Switzerland and aren’t linked by any business relations.

Proposal ask
$50,000 USD worth of ONE tokens
- $10k for translating open.harmony.one.
- $10k for host 2 meetups for 50 people each
- $10k for partnering with a regional hackathon of 100 developers.
- $10k for sourcing 5 approved grantees from that language or region.
- $10k for growing the public community to 1,000 active members on Twitter.
We propose a compensation of 75$ in ONE/h for the governors. Time recording is done via clockify
Metrics for success
- translation to german for open.harmony.one.
- 2 meetups for minimum 50 people each(Already in the pipeline: Regional meetups in Germany and Switzerland. More details with funding proposal will follow in the next weeks)
- a regional hackathon of 100 developers (co-sponsoring, partnering).
- 5 approved grantees from the german-speaking region.
- 1,000 active members on Twitter/Telegram.
