Hi, guys! What about FB|Instagram? Do you have any plans for creation and grouth of community accounts and paid promotions?

Harmony India DAO first Virtual Meetup

Community meet-ups are always fun. What’s exciting is being treated to exciting info about projects on Harmony Protocol. The 1st virtual meet up of Harmony India DAO primarily revolved around introducing the Harmony ecosystem, how it has evolved over a period of time and the roadmap it intends to adopt for the future. We had 50+ attendees to make the event a success! The highlight of the evening was presentations by our guest speakers. We had representatives from Harmony funded projects like Mars colony, Hyperium DAO and a recent joiner, Airlyft. One (Kyte one). The representatives talked about the changing world of NFT, P2E gaming and Blockchain as a whole while sharing the introduction of their respective projects. The most important aspect of discussion was why they chose to build their projects on Harmony Protocol. We had also invited GullakParty, a project that has requested funding from Harmony and is yet to be onboarded as a functioning project. The aim was to make sure that aspiring projects get a chance to showcase their vision with the Harmony community and build trust!

The meetup also saw the introduction of Governors of the Harmony India DAO This meetup has shown that Harmony India DAO has built a very closely knit community which is heavily engaged in meaningful discussions regarding Blockchain technology and specifically so about Harmony ecosystem The community was actually able to put faces to the names of governors who they had interacted with over a period of time and are better bonded than before. This shows that the Harmony India DAO community is not just connected on a superficial level, but also at a much more meaningful level and this would help us in further growing organically through more such community events and referrals.

The event was well put together and highly appreciated by the community as well as presenters as the interaction level was high! We aim to build on this success and conduct more such events!

Hey folks, this is a great initiative and as IRL meetups are now starting to open up, we are very keen on creating an ecosystem outreach for Harmony in India. We have been doing a couple of meetups as a part of The Phoenix Guild in Bangalore and are looking to bring bigger Harmony Outreach to India.
We have done a couple of virtual sessions as well as collaborated with various communities in India to do 4 IRL meetups in the last 3 weeks.

We were looking to propose creating an Indian ecosystem outreach program that will involve us educating and helping builders build on Harmony protocol.

Social media and community outreach via in-person meetups is becoming extremely important and the Indian community with an abundance of builders is one of the best places to start imho.

We are looking to understand if you would be open to collaborating with us and having a governor rotation that will help our team to come onboard and work on this in a decentralised fashion or would it be preferable that we apply for a separate proposal which is focused on outreach and education in -person as I noticed that most of your deliverables are virtual.

My team and I have been working in the web3 ecosystem for a while and have grant projects from Harmony, so we are particularly keen on spreading the word about Harmony :). I personally have over 5 years of experience in this space and I am passionate about education in web3. (This is me: https://twitter.com/gyanlakshmi/status/1513608582134378496?s=20&t=kh3Jzi2YELaX3uWQVtdfOw)

Here are some of our recent meetups:

  • An introduction to web3 in collaboration with Ocean protocol India
  • A meet and greet event in collaboration with The Product house and Elevation Capital
  • Coinbase had invited us to do a meetup for their India launch
  • A lunch and learn session in collaboration with tezos on “Zero Knowledge Proof for Dummies”

Attaching some pictures for reference. Let us know what should be our next steps forward in terms of collaboration/individual proposal. Looking to get some feedback from the Harmony team as well. @frwrdslosh @lij @HarmonyUniverse @Sam

Hello Gyanlakshmi

It’s good to hear from talented and experienced people like yourself. We know you through the Ocean protocol india. Dr. Prakash happens to be a good acquaintance. And you yourself have cast a good shadow on the crypto community in India by offering your training programs for crypto noobs! Congratulations on reaching the milestone registration on your course! And congrats that your project Naksh on Launches Category, already Approved by Harmony.

Decentralization is the philosophy that Harmony protocol as well as Harmony India DAO, however there is no precedent for governor rotation or any requirement mentioned anywhere in the DAO governance principles. Having said that, the community would decide who the governors should be through a voting process.

Harmony India DAO had proposed virtual meet-ups to the Harmony team keeping in mind the COVID situation in the country about 3 months ago. However we are open to the idea of conducting real life events soon. One major thing that we take into consideration while deciding on activities like this is the reach of the event and the impact that it mat leave on the community. While we appreciate the importance of IRL meet-ups we have come to believe, out of experience, that virtual meet-ups allow for more participation as well as community members from the the entire indian community would be able to join in without the hindrance of distance. IRL events have the potential of causing concentration risk where individuals from a single city may join in and the other community members who intend to participate and share their ideas may not be able to do so. That being said, we are totally looking forward to proposing and hosting IRL meet-ups that would definitely make an impact!

We appreciate the time and effort that you have put in reading through our proposal. Of the activities that we proposed and are mandated for a Harmony DAO, the motto that we have adopted is Engage, Educate and Earn. Staying true to it, we have been able to successfully educate and onboard developers as well as projects on the Harmony ecosystem.

The vision of Harmony India DAO and the proposed vision of your DAO do not have a lot in common and it would be a good idea to place a proposal on the principles of conducting outreach events in selected cities. It would be a learning experience to see talented people like yourself traversing the breadth of the country to spread the word of Harmony. Cheers to you and the Team.

Hope your Another Proposal :slightly_smiling_face::crossed_fingers:( the Phoenix Guild) on DAO Category will be approved soon.

Hello @frwrdslosh , we forget to mention that We reached 100% already in translation based on the pages uploaded in the notion.

Hii @frwrdslosh

The second virtual community meet-up of Harmony India DAO contained all the hallmarks of a success!

· An excited group of participants

· A great set of guest speakers from NFT & Metaverse projects on Harmony Protocol

· Some amazing discussions and answers from the speakers

The session began with a brisk introduction and welcome note by Vaibhav, who welcomed the participants and gave an overview of the proceedings of the evening. This was followed by an introduction of Harmony Protocol and the reasons why play-to-earn games, NFT and Metaverse have come to form one of the biggest objectives of Harmony Protocol.

Tayyab, concluded the session by showing some of the recent achievements of Harmony India DAO in the form of community incentivization activities like the quiz nights with Levi_Cryptoman, the Infographics contest and more.

Levi Cryptoman, in his own style led the proceedings of the evening by interacting with the guest speakers and facilitating their informative presentations. Speakers from the latest Harmony projects like BlockPerks NFT, Fallacy Verse, HarmonyVille, Dingos NFT and Meta Humanoids introduced their own projects to the community and sparked a debate.

This debate came to fruition when Levi asked some pointed questions to our speakers. The speakers were extremely happy to interact and provided the responses that were well appreciated by the community.

With all the happenings that took place during the evening, Priyank, the Lead Governor spoke to the community and did a quick recap of the evening finally opening the way to thank the speakers and the community. Looking at the way things took place, the Harmony India Community concluded that the event met with the required objectives and was decided as a resounding success.

The Harmony India Community would be absolutely delighted if any representatives from Harmony Protocol would be able to join in the upcoming community meet-up sessions.
