Name of DAO
Harmony SEE DAO
Proposal overview
Why Do We Want to Position Harmony in the SEE?
The Southeast Europe region has an untapped potential that is already recognized by some of the leading web3 projects. Spanning from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and partially Turkey. Housing a total of over 70 million people. Strong technical universities, blockchain-friendly governments, vibrant startup ecosystem and growing number of VC funds in the region are pushing innovation.
As the area is extremely potent, there is a huge need to bring Harmony closer to all of these people and to establish itself as one of the most important protocols on which great things will happen in the near future.
We want to onboard the SEE region onto the Harmony protocol via the SEE DAO. In the region, for instance, Bulgaria has a strong blockchain presence housing companies such as Nexo and Crypto.com while Serbia leads with Tenderly development hub. Our goal is to introduce Harmony to the bustling blockchain and development community in the SEE and seek to onboard them - as builders, supporters or investors in the ecosystem.
Our Mandates
1. Awareness - Raise awareness about the Harmony protocol in the SEE region
One of our very first efforts will be invested into raising awareness about Harmony’s technical capabilities among tech lovers, blockchain enthusiasts and generally curious people across different areas in South-East Europe.
This mandate practically covers all activities scheduled over the following three months.
2. Education - Disseminate information about Harmony ecosystem, available grants and fellowship opportunities
Aims to provide easy access to information about web3 and Harmony use-cases while showcasing the practical side of the technology itself. We will adjust our content according to the different audiences and interests, so we can onboard developers, non-technical specialists (marketers, business developers, artists), and entrepreneurs.
Through a combination of educational and grant awareness programs as well as an online hackathon, we will put a special emphasis on future Harmony builders - developers and projects from both web2 and web3 space.
3. Community - Facilitate the establishment and growth of the Harmony community of supporters, contributors, academia and investors
Creating and nurturing a community of core Harmony supporters who in the future will help us grow our presence and bring onboard more contributors. The initial group of core supporters will be further utilized as future governors of the Harmony SEE DAO. This is also the birthplace of future Harmony ambassadors.
To enhance the knowledge of Harmony, our activities include organizing local meetups, AMA sessions, as well as running different channels and providing organic growth based on content that will make it easier for all new members to get onboard.
Furthermore, we propose a rather horizontal mandate:
4. Diversity - Providing opportunities for the underrepresented groups to get an equal access to the amazing opportunities that Harmony provides
Reinforce the first mandate by outreaching to underrepresented groups and communities in the region (such as people living in rural areas, away from the capital cities, women, people without tech background, but curious to learn about web3).
Note. Our main focus for the first three months will be on Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia and afterwards expansion to other countries through a 12 month plan which we will present, supported by data and success in the first three months.
After we complete all the activities and reach the set milestones within the next three months, we want to expand our contribution to setting up a full-fledged marketing and business development plan. We want to propose a 12-month plan for the further development and promotion of Harmony One, that will include marketing, business development, potential acceleration program, and general grants support with more geographical reach based on our delivered results.
Our Team
SEE native Harmony enthusiasts sharing similar cultures, values and languages while nurturing diversity. Our experiences range from operating blockchain protocols, startups, incubators, accelerators, all the way to investments, charitable work, marketing, project management and business development. We call web3 our home. Our skills combined with the Harmony technology stack as well as various opportunities that Harmony offers will allow us to set up the DAO and scale Harmony blockchain in the SEE region and beyond, all based on trackable results.
