Bounce - Retrievable ONE Transfers

Proposal overview

Fear of sending ONE to the wrong or mistyped address creates friction to adoption. Bounce smart contracts mimic a familiar transaction pattern eliminating the risks of losing funds for both the sending and receiving party. Until the receiving party grabs the ONE, the sender can Bounce it back.

Bounce’s backbone is a verified, tested and open source smart contract and factory. The goal of the project is to make sending native ONE worry-free. This will be done utilizing the Bounce DApp and through creating the foundation for any wallet to implement the logic.

The contracts written in Vyper are simple, at about 20 lines of code each, and logical even to those without a background in programming. The current MVP contract factory is live on the testnet at 0x6EBb3ee743f3ad0eAd30DE88B1351C88C8f38886. The contracts are on GitHub.

Proposal ask

Requesting $45,000 total after satisfactory completion of milestones. Breakdown follows.

Roadmap

Week 1-2 Gather community input, build small team, finalize smart contract logic and events, deploy alpha version to testnet. $5k

Week 3-4 Launch prototype DApp and web3 javascript docs for interacting with and testing Bounce smart contracts. $10k

Week 5-6 Completion of a Security Audit. $7.5k

Week 7-8 Smart Contracts Mainnet and Bounce DApp Launch. $15k

Week 9-12 Integrate with established wallet. $7.5k

Just replied to a question on reddit and thought I would share a chunk of it here.

"Think of it as dual ownership. Instead of sending ONE which is immutable, you place the ONE in an envelope on the table. The person across the table either accepts and grabs the envelope or you can just grab it back and walk away.

Using this flow you always send value and data to the same trusted smart contract address, and vary the receivers address to the user you are ‘sending too’."

To be in line with the funding requirements for a launch on Harmony we are requesting $50K in equity-free contribution:
$10K after launching a feature-complete product on testnet.
$10K after third party smart contract security audit and mainnet launch.
$10K after forming a DAO with our community focusing on utility and security DApps utilizing Vyper and Solidity Smart Contracts.
$20K @ 10K users: 10k transactions from unique accounts on Bounce smart contract(s).

The team is currently working on Bouncing ONE to a user that has never used Harmony or a wallet before via email in the simplest(fewest steps) possible. Our inspiration came from how Venmo users can send money to friends via email that currently do not use the app creating an incentivized onboarding scheme. Just like in Venmo if the user does not signup to receive the funds it can be returned to the sending user or Bounced Back. Will update with more info on this shortly.

@kenny thank you for the proposal. It has been approved under the Launches track. However, we don’t allow payout milestone modification as this would make tracking and admin very difficult. The guidelines state the following:

• $10K after launching a feature-complete product on our testnet,
• $10K after forming a DAO with 5-out-of-9 multisig with our DAOs,
• $10K after launching on our mainnet with audit,
• $10K after 1K daily active users (with launch video, full PR promotion),
• $10K after 10k daily active users (with a detailed roadmap, governance process).

Moreover, we recommend a 5-out-9 multisig account on Gnosis Safe with 3 governors from the project team, 3 governors from the project community, and 3 governors from Harmony DAOs – namely, ONEcommunityDAO, ONEdeveloperDAO, ONEincubatorDAO.

Holiday Update:
We are currently working on the Harmony eGift Card app that the reddit community has been testing over the last 2 days. Reddit eGift Card Link Over 100 Harmony ONE $1 eGift Cards have been sent out for feedback. Thanks to everyone that has participated so far.

We are hoping to have the full featured eGift Card App out early next week on bouncePass.one so anyone can load gift cards and send to friends and family during the Holiday season.

Participated in NFThack2022 and won $100 from Harmony. Created a simple ERC721 compliant, plain text data uri utf-8 encoded NFT so DApps can integrate the logic when interacting with you and call you your preferred name.

Was trying to build a modular character building NFT that connected data across the blockchain and web2 integrating the graph protocol but bit off a little too much for a 2 day event.
