Where we are today

Today, Capture DAO is an idea ready to execute with funding support.

The Capture DAO team is composed of Founder Kitty Grier, COO Hannah Verschelden and CMO Bee Davies.

Well-known in the crypto space, NFT Girl Gang founder, Kitty Grier (itskittah), Hannah Verschelden (hanimalcookies) and Bee Davies (Bee.Davies) have established strong personal/professional brands by participating in over 4 panels at the largest crypto conferences, all over the country.

We have direct access to the top videographers, content writers, press outlets, private events, and all access media passes to the largest crypto conferences.

Harmony Focus: WE FREAKING LOVE HARMONY. We’d like to build a portal on Harmony, connecting womxn led projects. We need the ability to pay a developer, this is a gap for us, and something we will overcome as a first priority with funding and being more involved in the Harmony community. We plan on dedicating a portion of our stories to the Harmony development track. Here we will share stories of womxn building on Harmony. By creating a portal using harmony tech, our community will learn how to build on and tap into the Harmony ecosystem, like we are.

Current Following: NFT Girl Gang has over 1000+ social following and 150 active discord members. Collectively with our team and supporters, we have over a 50k reach of followers. We also have our site live, with over 1000 unique monthly visitors. We also have a mailing list with 300+ people with a 81% open rate on each email.

I briefly spoke with @Chakraam_The_Great about doing interviews and a livestream at NFTLA. We can get the team going and get started next week if we can have this approved in time. We are also heading over to NFT Miami and Bitcoin Miami and are happy to capture / provide scholarships for those conferences as well.

Hello, @itskittah :blue_heart:

Oh man, if we’ve met irl I think I would remember because I can literally feel your energy reading this proposal!!

Thank you so much for bringing this proposal to Harmony. We freaking love you, too. Harmony has a distinct interest in helping bring opportunities to womxn all over the world. With H.E.R DAO, Blu3 DAO, and MetaGammaDelta leading the way for Harmony, and many many more to come.

I would like to encourage you to visit our DAO Funding Guidelines page and review how we evaluate and fund DAOs.

We break our DAO funding into - at minimum - three “tranches”; Bootstrap, Operational, Expansion. You can read more about it on the guidelines.

For the Bootstrap Grant, The minimal requirements for are:

  1. Mandates: 3 mandates. Specific. Precise. Each mandate to have two sub-clauses to provide further clarification on these mandates. All three mandates and their sub-clauses should fit within a tweet.

    1. EXAMPLES:

      Developer DAO:
      Support -
Resolve daily issues on forums & channels, drive weekly meeting agenda
Bounties - Prioritize bugs & features with task management & contributor retention
Advocacy - Hold workshops & events, content marketing with talks & blogs

      Basic DAO:
      Timesheets -
Help contributors track work hours & deliverables in public
Payroll - Setup paid challenges, wallets, streaming payments & taxes
Reviews - Follow up performance feedback for bonus or penalty, rage quits, or kicks.

  2. Deliverables: Looking forward for the next 3 months only, identify key deliverables directly tied to the mandates of your DAO that you will be focused on accomplishing. Be specific. Chart, in steps, how you will get from where you start to delivering your goal.

  3. Metrics: Quantifiable and verifiable. List the “stretch goal” metrics that you and your DAO will be using to measure your impact in furthering your mandate. Low bars of success indicate a certain level of disengagement, while high bars and stretch goals indicate confidence in yourself and your community to accomplish that about which you are passionate.

  4. Signers: List the 9 initial signers of the multisig that will start your DAO. NOTE: As we have said in the DAO Funding Guidelines (Guidelines for Harmony Grants) being a governor is not about having a part-time job. Think about your three mandates and try to find passionate individuals that have the skillset and expertise to help you accomplish those goals.

  5. Gnosis Safe Multisig Wallet: Establish a multisig wallet that requires 5 out of the 9 governors to approve the disbursement of funds.

  6. Schedule the Next Election: DAOs are not kingdoms. The initial multisig signers do not rule by divine right, nor are they supposed to be “Signers-for-Life”. DAOism is about community. About passionate participation in projects. It is vital that we have a regular rotation of community members experiencing the responsibility of managing the DAOs treasury.

Please note, that because a DAO proposal meets the criteria, it does not guarantee them approval for funding.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions. Looking forward to the updates! Mandates, Harmony multisig, Signers, Next elections scheduled.

Could you maybe point to what is needed to address?

Today on the Harmony DAO meeting it seemed that not all DAOs fall under the guidelines, and that it should not be the be all end all decision maker on getting funding.

What does Capture DAO need to do specifically to qualify for funding?

following up with this @itskittah and a quick update from Harmony:

The Harmony DAO Ops team will resume approvals and funding on May, 1st. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we learn best practices and navigate the proposal process. In the meantime, please take a look at the updated DAO Funding Guidelines .

Evening @frwrdslosh,
I am not at all involved with this proposal but was very curious on the current status of being approved or denied.

IMO, A few things need to be ironed out here.

The DAOs twitter page has barely over 700 followers with no real engagement. How can a project make money when they have no following? Influx of cash doesn’t necessarily make that possible.

@itskittah,
Could you please explain how you are going to generate revenue when all you are doing is dishing out cash and scholarships to interviewees?

Thanks so much!

As my fellow harmonaut just stated , dreaming is free , but trying to get Harmony to pay you to travel around the world isn’t an option , Harmony wouldn’t benefit as a chain from this , If your dream is to create a Crypto Interview Media Channel that goes to conventions , etc. Fund it as your own venture or find outside investors , but there isn’t much benefit to Harmony from throwing money to the project.

Besides, this doesnt benefit the ecosystem at all.
if we want woke DAOs like this we already got HER DAO and blu3 DAO.
we dont need to waste the whole ecosystem fund on a lot of paper DAOs that do the same and also dont benefit the ecosystem.

Please also provide a plan on how this movement would benefit the ecosystem.

The revenue stream from your proposal is basically marketing in/out spending to your DAO not Harmony.

And you have mentioned

  • Sponsored articles by large scale companies (ex: Metamask)

Please provide an approach of how would Metamask sponsors you to write an article? or do you already have a contact with them?

Traveling the world and telling stories if fine and all but what is this DAO going to do when it comes to generating cash inflows? From what I see, it would just result in Harmony giving you $ONE which would immediately be sold, without any inflows. This is already happening way too much and a big reason why DAO funding is under intense scrutiny right now. A lot of people see it as just an easy way to get free money by just writing a buzzword-filled proposal, and Harmony has been directly harmed by this practice, both financially and how it’s seen.

You say you plan to acquire 300K followers of your cause. Please provide specifics on how you will manage to do that in an ethical way. That is a massive undertaking. You are asking for a tremendous amount of money that goes above and beyond what projects receive approval for. I don’t see how this will be nothing but a net negative for the ecosystem. A vague mention of a “portal” is not enough.

The status of this proposal is still in a review stage.

Proposals aren’t automatically approved when they are posted on to the talk forum. The DAO Ops team are working on a method to make this more clear. There is a review stage and until a verified Harmony member types the words “approved”, all proposals can be considered under review. Also, for reference, if there is not a tx hash in the comments from a verified Harmony team member then there has been no funding sent. Again, The DAO Ops team will be making this more clear to the community.

thanks again, @amartay1986, for being involved on these talk proposals and contributing to a constructive discussion.

Another update that is more of the same, unfortunately.

All approvals and proposals for DAO Bootstrap Funding are still paused. This is a temporary measure. Please do not let this dissuade you and your team from building.

Happy to help anytime bud!

Hello, @itskittah

The Harmony DAO Ops team has decided to decline this proposal.

The funding request is out-of-scope.

The bar to receive a DAO bootstrap grant is now higher than it has been historically. In order to receive a bootstrap grant going forward, DAOs will need to evidence a high level of transparent reporting, robust community involvement and a business plan that reflects a commitment to self-funding. Further guidelines are being finalized and should be released in the coming week.

I apologize that this process has been lengthy and drawn-out and I appreciate yours and the DAO’s patience. Harmony and the DAO Ops team wanted to exhaust every option before responding with a declination.

Do not let this dissuade you or your DAOs passion to build on Harmony. Harmony is integrating new tools to help build a robust DAO ecosystem. I’m looking forward to your success.
