@mohanarvindk harmonize… type of promoting… on harmony’s platform. Why are you all attacking and bullying me for no reason. Im not spamming anything. Im just commenting on my own teams’ forum by trying to stay active and engaged.
I’d like to know more about the ROI/KPI and how Harmony would benefit from this and increase their TVL , I genuenly don’t see a world where this DAO is self sustainable and generates to Harmony any benefits.
Until I get proven otherwise is a SOLID NO for me.
I want to see roi and kpi as well and how this benefits harmony. How do I know this isn’t a cash grab rug pull. Harmony needs to sustain itself and increase tvl before funding these suspicious projects. This is a no from me as well. I’m a harmony investor and I want harmony to benefit first before they fund these charity projects.
Thank you, Harmony community members @mohanarvindk @juanonewuan and @chrismatt83, for your questions about OKRs/KPIs and sustainable revenue. The Harmony application asked for metrics and we provided the distribution network and reach we have once we build the game. These are listed in the linked Notion full application on this page.
Access to 1 Billion people using their tools and creating economic empowerment and social impact with youth in communities worldwide represents massive benefits for Harmony. As for financial ROI, As far as I understand, with these grants, Harmony is funding a substantial experiment of the Decentralized Autonomous Organizational structure, and experiments need many different types of people and organizations at different stages in order to test this structure. Thus, it makes sense that in the applications they did not ask us to provide a ROI in financial terms as the web3 / DAO world is vastly growing and changing daily, and not everyone knows exactly what will provide the best ROI.
The Island17 Metaverse project has been spun off from a nonprofit social enterprise accelerator which has been focused on youth since 2016 as the problem-solvers and leaders of tomorrow, giving them a voice and a platform, today. Our mission is social impact driven by youth, and the solving of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, profitably. We’ve listed more in the Proof of Concept section in the full proposal which we’ve constructed on Notion and linked here.
This DAO will be responsible for designing the accelerators and hackathons to build Island17, primarily focusing on the next generation. Young people have changed 3 laws and have patent-pending innovations, have spoken at the UN, White House and Davos / World Economic forum. We’ve listened to the youth, and are building this DAO with a mix of generations, to use these new structures and technologies to reward them and treat them as equals in building the new economy. We have projected at least 8 sustainable revenue streams that will be built into our metaverse/game.
I invite more kindness in our communications here. One of our Governors @KNIGHTiREIGN was cheering on one of our youth members @Aleeza_Jahan, who is 16 years old and a complete rock star, teaching herself coding and winning web3 hackathons, full of brilliant ideas, and we wanted to celebrate her. I would hope that members of Harmony care as much about the next generation of humans as the next generation of technology, which should serve humans and the planet. From what I’ve seen, your comments to him are not in alignment with the culture of Harmony who is desiring to fund more diverse leaders, and being a women and youth-led, with a powerful group of leaders around us, I was invited to apply by Harmony team members themselves. I was led to believe this was a safe and ‘harmonious’ space to grow our business, and bring more youth leaders.
I am confident you will agree and support our mission.
Tl:dr: you don’t have KPI or ROI and you literally did not answer the question at all
It is a long read and none of my questions have been answered.
Went through the application and some of the supporting links you posted. Since the proposal is very long I’d like to first mention my understanding of what you’re trying to do very briefly-
You plan to create a metaverse with the help of youth that you will be selecting and then coordinating with. The metaverse will be built with the UN’s SDGs as a backbone and you hope to engage the youth in this metaverse as they try and solve for these SDGs based on real-world datasets.
Now to get into the meat of things-
Can you explain how exactly you arrived at this number? How is reach defined here (followers/subscribers/impressions)? I hope you didn’t simply add the reach for the various networks without considering overlap of reached people cross-network and within the network channels.
Ignoring the network reach, your own reach seems extremely low.

Dream Tank Website- This doesn’t even work at the time I’m writing this comment
Is there a breakdown available for exactly how you plan on using these funds? Since it appears that you don’t have a DAO structure down or a dedicated dev team, I’m intrigued how you arrived at this figure.
Launch a two-week virtual development sprint with a group of curated high schools and universities to begin building out LEVEL 1 of the Island17 Metaverse.
The above point is from the detailed application you linked. Couple of questions here-
-
Does your team have any expert on metaverse game development on the blockchain that can guide the students and the overarching project?
-
Since you are relying on these kids to build the Metaverse, will the recruitment be merit-based or diversity-based (since your application mentions diversity but not merit)?
Coming to the sustainability model of this project and the funding, I could make very little sense of what is going on so would appreciate if you could clear things up. For example-
What even are Founder NFTs? You mention you expect to raise $500k with this so that brings it to ~$300 apiece. Who is the target audience for these exactly?
Each of the metaverse components that gets created is distributed to the creators as NFTs. These NFTs allow the creators to sell them and earn royalties for each subsequent trade. These NFTs and other NFTs associated with Island17 (such as the founders NFT) give voting rights to the holder.
The above is from the application. Can you explain the model here? What do voting rights have to do with NFTs? Founder and creator NFTs? Royalties? Is there any speculative plan that quantifies the effort, money inflow-outflow, overall revenue, etc. with regards to this process?
Again, can you actually quantify these metrics? For an ask of $1M (> $1M considering the subsidiary DAOs you also seem to be asking funds for separately), I believe a way more robust plan and clearly defined mandates and results are required. I get that you are planning on creating social impact (something that is hard to quantify using simple ROI), but nothing I see here seems too convincing.
I do appreciate your spirit of trying to encourage the youth to step up. I did check out Cody’s Dream Tank Portal Tour and it’s great to see the excitement he has for building at such a young age.
So the answer is you don’t have KPI or ROI , could’ve saved me a couple minutes of my life reading all of that word salad
The information you are seeking is available, however, this information is also our IP and we hold this close and we will share when asked by the Harmony Team. At this point, based on the tone of your questions and negative comments, we don’t feel safe sharing it here. Thanks for your interest.
Emotional Appeal to the questions regarding ROI, KPI are irrelevant. Those are business terminologies and in noway related to IP or any other personal information. You either have one prepared or you don’t. It is evident that you and your proposers don’t have answer for any of these questions. From a business perspective and keeping harmony in mind; I don’t want to approve this proposal and I won’t invest money in anything that doesn’t promise me a clear return on investment.
Today is a day to take a breath… And Just appriciate all the mothers out there! Happy Mother’s Day!
You’re looking for funding. We are a decentralised blockchain. some of those asking are validators or investors. Reveal the info please.
This response is the lamest thing I’ve read so far today , sorry mate but you’re a funny one

All approvals and proposals for DAO Bootstrap Funding are still paused. This is a temporary measure. Please do not let this dissuade you and your team from building. Stay tuned for another update regarding DAO Bootstrap Funding
