ONERuDAO. ONE month in review

Hey fam,

As you may know, the ONERuDAO started its journey and was approved for mandates in Dec 2021. Final elections finished on 13th of Dec 2021 and since then the Governing council took over the DAO mandates and deliverables.

Mandates of ONERuDAO

  • Growth: onboard users on missions and culture, pollinate values across communities
  • Engagement: amplify content of roadmap and milestones, creative campaigns of products
  • Diversity: solicit voices and votes in forums, reinforce strong governance participation

Deliverables for ONERuDAO

  • $10k for translating open.harmony.one;
  • $10k for host 2 meetups for 50 people each;
  • $10k for partnering with a regional hackathon of 100 developers;
  • $10k for sourcing 5 approved grantees from that language or region;
  • $10k for growing a public community to 1,000 active members on Twitter.

We build our work-flow according to a 6-week cycle, so we have 2 stages for the ONERuDAO-1:

  1. Preparation (6 weeks);

  2. Fast Execution (6 weeks).

The IMPACT is incredibly surprising and unexpected for the so short period of time during the ONE month ONERuDAO has been existing:

  1. Seeding DAO mindset in the ru-speaking community;
  2. Onboarding new devs to build on top of Harmony;
  3. Soliciting voices and votes on the forum and governance section;
  4. Increasing participation in ecosystem projects.

Today, we’re at stage 1 - Preparation and really happy to share with everyone about what has been done for the month since elections:

  1. Elected the Initial Council of 9 Governors:
  1. Social Media and Communication channels are set:
  • Twitter — 595 followers;
  • Telegram — 638 active users;
  • Discord — server launched;
  • Website - https://rudao.one/

  1. Open Knowledge Base — onerudao.notion.site;

  2. Preparation for 2 local meetups in Kyiv and Moscow;

  3. Sourcing 8 approved grantees from the ru-speaking region:

  1. Sustainable Business Model for a Regional Type of a DAO.

  2. Voted Community logo, thinking through the ONERuDAO identity;

  3. Prepared #OneDollar challenge with financial support from other projects;

  4. Setting basics for the open design of the ONERuDAO Charter

  5. Started onboarding funnel preparation. Prepared general structure, poll to collect some basic info about newcomers, telegram bot.

  6. Ongoing work on a Local hackathon with partners.

  7. Set On-chain Governance.

Further deliverables for the Preparation stage:

  1. Adding DAO tools to the DAO internal working process.
  2. Onboarding active community members serving as Envoys of the ecosystem partners.
  3. Finishing Preparation phase (in 2 weeks).

Now it is not necessary to learn Russian, you can use an online translator. And if you want to pump up an additional skill - learning Russian will be useful to you :wink: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

We want to make a proposal regarding the second milestone – to hold two meetups with 50 participants each.

February 19, we held a great meetup in Kiev timed to Harmony Developers and Creators Day, which had visited more than 300 people.

Many speakers and visitors from Ukraine and Russia, such as Trustee Wallet, Metatrone, MarsColony teams, Max Lurya (CEO of EnoughTea) attended the event.

Unfortunately, the second meetup can’t be organized because of Russian-Ukrainian War. Ukraine is partially occupied now and meetup in Russia is not politically correct now.

Can we apply grant for this event? Milestone has been performed partially, but many people visited the first one. Event level was very high, much time and effort had been spent.

i’m likely to approve the event milestone for onerudao:

  1. the event was held on 02/19
  2. the report is here Harmony Builders and Creators Day in Kyiv, Ukraine - #11 by nickv
  3. 300+ attendees; 8 harmony grantees gave speeches

my feeling this 1 Harmony Devs and Creators Day is worth of 2 events of 50 ppl milestone and onerudao is eligible to be funded.
